So I had mentioned in another thread that I was unable to get navigation setup because the APIM I bought doesn’t seem to have it.

I was a bit confused because I was under the impression that Ford started building all their APIMs with the ability to have Nav via subscription a while back. This was manufactured earlier this year.

Out of curiosity, what is the brown/copper antenna for?

That should be the GPS antenna connection I think, but someone else please confirm/dispute. Appreciate all the info on your install thus far!!

That’s what I thought which confused me a bit? Curious if I buy an antenna and install if there’s something I could turn on in Forscan to get stock navigation working? Can’t subscribe officially since this VIN wouldnt have ever needed it through FordPass.

Anybody have an idea of what part would work?

I think you need the APIM that has the GPS connector. I don't think that model will work.

So as everybody knows I’ve been dealing with some static crackling at random ever since swapping my APIM out. I was curious if the issue was coming from the APIM or the ACM.

Audio worked flawlessly before the swap, so I’m trying to narrow down if it’s the APIM software, APIM hardware, ACM hardware, or one of the cables that’s connected to the ACM that’s causing my crackling and popping when anything is playing regardless of radio, Bluetooth, or USB.

I’ve noticed that the audio crackle happens worse with lower quality audio say from the SoundCloud app and happens much less frequently when playing through Apple Music.

My main suspect is that it’s software related to the APIM.

Thoughts?

Does it do it when listening to music over AM FM or through USB thumb drive?

Yes, no matter what type of media is played or way I try to play it the audio still does this slight crackle occasionally. I’ve tried different cables, different phones, and even just playing AM/FM radio, but it does it consistently.

Driving me insane!

I'm wondering if you cut a wire or have a loose pin after install on a harness.

I wonder if this would apply to the B&O system as well. I noticed when I checked Forscan yesterday that two channels (I believe 7&8) are showing open circuit DTCs.

Very odd that the APIM would cause this particular issue.

That was my initial thought, but I just swapped in an entirely different harness two days ago to try and fix it and the same issue exists.

I also put the old Sync3 APIM back in before trying a new harness with the Sync4 and music played totally fine again.

Sounds like it's worth a shot to me.

I was considering checking these actual amp for the B&O that’s hidden behind the rear passenger seat and seeing if there was a way to reset it or tinker there to see if it would fix my issue.

It seems impossible that I messed up any writing related to the speakers. Two different harness’s with the same issue and the only other cable is the black speaker cable that’s plugged into the ACM which was only removed and plugged back in and looks perfectly fine to me?

also the fact that audio works fine with the old APIM.

Alternatively, I could remove and reset the fuse for the sound system and see if a hard reboot helps? I’m assuming it’s fuse 23 (This is from the 2024 Maverick Owners Manual).

Update #2

After using an as built for a 2024 F150 Lariat I found it to be a surprisingly good starting ground. It solved problems 1 & 3 listed above for me right away. After enabling some features like ambient lighting and disabling features that didn’t apply we are in pretty good shape.

The one thing still not working is the rear view camera. With the previous as build on this APIM it turned on when the truck was put into reverse, but was dark and buggy. After switching to this as build, even with rear view camera enabled in Forscan, putting the truck into reverse only brings up the parking sensor screen. The camera does not turn on. Below is a photo of what I’m referring to as well as my Forscan settings.

At the moment, I am unable to find a fix. Any ideas?

I have the exact same problem., the APIM is from a 23 F150 Lighting. When I installed the SYNC 4 APIM, the rear camera worked perfect, but them I made some other changes in Forscan and the camera stopped working and I get the same parking sensor screen. Did you find a solution to the rear camera not working? I have tried several setting, but no luck. Please help.
