Actual day of production and release to in transit are 2 different things. It probably was built on 11-19 and was released once the quality hold was lifted on 12-10.

The in production date for my truck was also 11-14. As of today, no progress. So what you're saying is my vehicle has been sitting in a parking lot for almost 6 weeks with no idea when it might be shipped. At this point it looks like this vehicle will have been sitting in the sun for almost 3 months before delivery. Not my idea of customer service.

Yes, they don't have enough indoor parking for 10k vehicles. They always have quality hold to make sure there aren't any issues when going from one model year to the next. About all of the produced Mavericks have been shipped. I'm sure you like to garage your vehicle but these vehicles are fine and will be okay. Even when there isn't a quality hold they will be outside for at least 4 weeks getting to you. They are shipped by carrier asking with 6-9 other vehicles.

First built and last shipped. I don't think that's a common practice in the auto industry.

I don't work at the factory but I'm sure there is a reason they do what they do. I explain more in this video.

I'm retired UAW. I know how assembly plants work. First in first out. This is my first time buying a new Ford, and my last.

Maybe just pass on the Maverick then for a vehicle and manufacturer that will make you happy.

You mean like the Explorer debacle from the MY2020 launch where they were shipping vehicles from Chicago Assembly to Flat Rock for rework, before they could be delivered?

That event led to large changes in Ford's quality control over their suppliers. Huge emphasis on preventing contamination of any sealing material or surface. They will visit their tier 1 supplier locations a lot more frequently and follow up on all of these new requirements. They also now take it a step further with tier 1s having to push their supplier to adhere to the requirements as well.

Getting that Ford Q1 flag is a good bit more difficult than it used to be.

Never said I worked for Ford. Evidently they have their own way of doing things. Maybe that's why they lead the industry in recalls.
Never said you did, but Ford has a history of parking 1st-production builds while waiting on quality checks, and those are not always the first ones shipped.

Maybe whoever you worked for shipped those 1st builds, and let the customers find the problems?

Ford built 2024s until November 8th. They started building 2025's on November 11th. I've never seen a redesigned or refreshed vehicle with that little time between model years. No, where i worked, anyone could come in and see the assembly process first hand. You could follow your ordered vehicle from start to finish.

You’ve said this more than a few times before.

don’t buy your vehicle if you are worried about it. A lot has changed since you were on the line 30+ years ago.

30 years ago? I'm only 62. I didn't retire at 32. I've got many friends and coworkers still working today. At assembly plants all over the country.
