It's getting that time of the year where it's super dry. Recently just got the xlt hybrid and Im getting a lot of static discharge when I get out the car and closing the door. Im wondering if this is because the seat fabric is too new? Once I wear it down a few more years it should be better?

I have to ground myself with the metal of the door before getting out. Are there better ways of dealing with this?

Around this time of the year, I call myself "sparky." Sometimes it actually hurts getting out of my car and touch the door to close it. I can relate. This has been my issue as far back as I can remember. Neither my wife or my adult kids have this issue. I guess I am blesed with an extra charge in my internal circuits.

Just wondering if you have like dry skin? I generally have really bad skin whereas my wife is all like lotion up from head to toe so that "might" help.

I love the look of my Maverick, I'm afraid I just gotta suck it up and wait for the humidity to go up again.
Something like this might help?

Nope, I have naturally moist skin. It's just this time of year that I really spark up. Even inside my house. I go to touch someone and I zap them. As soon as the humidity goes back up it goes away.

⚡ Shocking ⚡ to hear.
17% relative humidity here no problems with static.

It depends on the fabric(s) you are wearing.

This is the simplest way of dealing with it. Grab metal on the door or the B pillar, and don't let go until you're fully out of the vehicle.
