I was in that group switching from an F150 to my Prius. I have always missed my truck. It’s like Ford knew I traded for a Prius and said “you’ll be back, we got you”.

True. I've told two people that I ordered a Ford Maverick and I had to explain to them what it was. Both of them initially thought of the old car, not the new truck --though admittedly both of these people are older (60s) and understandingly not up on the new tuck scene.

As I said many times on this forum, I had a 1995 red S-10. Loved the little thing because it was just right for me. I would be able to put those few things I purchased that was too long or too big for the back seat. For whatever reason though the engine died on me. I don't drive too much so it probably was under 50,000 miles. This was in 2004 when it died. I had to make a quick decision to get another car so it was a Ford focus hatchback. That was ok but there were things that just didn't work. I would have to either get friends or had the item delivered because it wouldn't fit in my car. Then when it was time to get another vehicle, we looked for trucks, but they were so expensive and big. We got a good deal on the Escape and I now have had 2 Escapes. I probably would have gotten another one, but then I saw the Maverick and I was sold. Finally a small pickup that I could afford. I won't be towing, I don't need heavy duty stuff, I'll be driving on pavement (except when I visit my parents as they live on dirt road in the middle of nowhere). so after thinking about that and fuel costs I went for the hybrid. My S-10 didn't even have a back seat and this does. I am very excited to get my truck.

I would definitely be stocking you, or anyone else with a Mav for that matter. Still batting zero here in Ohio. Dealer says he'll have one next week I can at least sit in, and poke around. I feel like I've OD'd on research, and the actual thing won't be so exciting any more....

I've also had several F150's, great trucks for sure. Then I retired, and sold my last one ('18) for a $9K profit, and concluded: A) I shouldn't really spend $50K on a vehicle any more, and B) don't really NEED a big truck, but still *need* a truck, so, welcome Maverick!

But seriously, I’m glad you found a perfect vehicle for you. Similiarly with trucks so pricey and gas hogs I was looking at the RAV4, Mazda CX-5 and Honda CRV. The Escape didn’t appeal to me. All of them just look like mini vans and I kept kicking the can. I’m so glad I did as the Ford Maverick ticked every box.

I too sometimes think my expectations are over the top, too many YouTube videos, too much time on here (I've been on vacation this week so that will soon come to an end) and I will find out that it is just a truck, but for me, yeah its just a truck! I love driving a truck! I hope I won't be disappointed.

Oh and, yesterday I drove into the Ford dealership just to see if they had one and hadn't let anyone know. Nope. *sigh* still have not laid eyes on one.
