I was with a friend who has an F150. We were off chasing trout and as we were rumbling down the road he asked Siri to call his wife at home. Seri responded “ I am sorry John I can’t do that” and ended the conversation.I was cut off by a bad driver and almost crashed into her. When I leaned on the horn to express my chagrin, my Maverick (2022 Hybrid XLT) announced in a female voice: "That wasn't very nice!"
I had to laugh, though the other driver deserved it. Anyone else had this happen?
Just yesterday I had an idiot cut in front of me on I 75 and leaned on the horn a good 5 seconds. Well, the idiot made the move to let a Bradington cop by (no lights or siren, just cruising). I was pulling a trailer (precludes panic breaking) and this idiot cut over so close that if I hadn't been on the brakes as much as I could while keeping control, his bike rack would have caught my left fender. Did the cop do anything? Nope. I mean really, at least wag a finger.I leaned on the horn after someone sat at the green arrow playing on their phone. The cop, unmarked car, behind me loud speakered to tell me that was unnecessary. I told him to do his job and ticket the distracted driver playing on their phone.
Easy fight in court if you have a good judge but traffic court often has nonlegal professionals adjudicating. Concern for the safety of others is as much a right as concern for your own.A former law partner had a friend who was actually cited for that: the charge is "Improper use of a safety device", and is just as illegal as playing with the phone.
It won’t open for meYour watch was listening to you?
It's a sad world when you're alone in your truck and still can't escape being criticized by a female.
Soon this will happen. Warning language
Sorry,It won’t open for me![]()
Got it!Sorry,
You are the first one, who has said it would not open. You can try tapping on the YouTube logo.
And playing through YouTube instead of through this forum?
Good Luck
No, that would be far from easy as a legal issue.Easy fight in court if you have a good judge but traffic court often has nonlegal professionals adjudicating.
My wife is frequently in mine.Had to be, there is no built in voice assistant in the truck.
Flashing headlights to warn of speed enforcement has been found legal under First Amendment. The parallel between lights and sound in free speech is an easy correlation, but I'm not a Constitutional lawyer. No, that would be far from easy as a legal issue.
It's certainly arguable, but blaring a horn to tell someone to move is precisely the type of behavior targeted by the law. You would probably have to target the law itself to have a chance of success.
and how did THAT work out for you…I leaned on the horn after someone sat at the green arrow playing on their phone. The cop, unmarked car, behind me loud speakered to tell me that was unnecessary. I told him to do his job and ticket the distracted driver playing on their phone.
