Mike, I suggest you head to your dealer and talk about the order. Get pricing in writing, make sure there will be no dealer add-ons once your truck arrives. If they will not commit, start the conversation about canceling your order. Unfortunately, loosing $500 now may save you more later on.

HRG
Agree, I will head out there on Monday if I have sometime. 500$ is not much anyways. A different ford dealer wanted 2k to order this vehicle. But I already knew that these people are not trustworthy. That’s the reason I went to a different location. I will keep you posted. Thanks

You showed them your hand, they know you aren't an informed buyer now so it will be an uphill battle.

Tell them you want the OTD price, signed by a sales manager. This is important because they will pretend that you will get MSRP, then have BS addons like "paint protection" that drive your cost up. If you give them an inch, they will wait until it arrives and then use your emotions to prevent you from walking away, after waiting for the exact truck you wanted.

If they won't fight for the deposit back, and order from one of the dealers on here selling for a discount like Granger. Better to travel a few states to get it at a discount than get hosed locally.

Trust me, I got screwed by 2 dealers in 2022. I got bent over after waiting 354 days and they refused to honor the price protection and only removed a few on the add on items. I made the mistake of setting my heart on the 2022 I ordered, and it cost me a few thousand dollars.

Better to rip the band aid now.

To tell you the truth I didn’t receive a contract. The dealer sent me a link I did a 500 dollar deposit, he sent my build in. Got a confirmation from ford and that’s about it.
If there was no contract with your deposit then it's going to come down to that dealerships policy on deposits on whether they are refundable or non refundable. That's definitely something you should have asked and had in writing before you made the deposit. No one here will be able to answer that for you, you'll need to ask the dealership if the deposit is refundable.

If they won't commit to a price at time of order, cancel and go find another dealer. They are just setting you up for games later.

Exactly correct i agreed on the original price when
Hello y’all. I ordered my 2025 XL Hybrid AWD. Got an email a few day ago stating that the build is scheduled for December 11th. Can the dealer charge me over MSRP since I ordered it? And if they can is there a limit?

i paid that amount for a 2024 lariat loaded except for the moonroof in February.

How do you order a vehicle from a dealership without negotiating price? With all the horror stories you hear it seams like a huge oversight

When I asked the dealer, he said that he “doesn’t think” they will charge me over MSRP. If just saying that does happen can If i refuse tu buy it will I get my deposit back?
The price you pay, is what you agreed to when you ordered it. You should have a signed copy of the sales price. Make sure there is nothing added by the dealer installed options you didn't ask for, and if you refuse the truck, you should get your deposit back. Most dealers are honest.

When you ordered the truck did you not have a sales order? Huh?
You need to have a written agreement or there has not yet been a sale. A handshake agreement is pointless.
Go back and write up the order With the dealership.

I've been seen a lot of people had to put down a deposit for the trucks. I didn't have to for the one I ordered 2025 XLT FX4 in Eruption Green. Is it normal to have to pay a deposit?

If they do, tell them to take a hike. They can't force you to pay over MSRP. I don't think there are very many dealers left price-gouging the Mavericks since supply has finally caught up with demand, but I suppose the '25 model year may re-ignite that practice among some. I just got a '24 model for $2000 under MSRP a couple of weeks ago, for what it's worth.
When I luckily found my 2023 on the lot the dealer gave me $600 under MSRP. Since it was XLT with lux pkg, moonroof they could easily afford to even if they didn't have to. I was glad to get the small discount though. It paid for most of the first several months of fuel being a hybrid. ;)

I had ordered a truck but found one on the lot somewhere else. The first dealer DID give me a written agreement. They bucked me a bit when I asked for my deposit back. A phone call to the owner of the dealership cleared that up quick when I told him I'd be doing my service there as it's five min away from home and work.

If the dealer charges more than MSRP, walk out. BTW what is an acquisition fee? I wouldnt pay that either.

I was told that my order sheet with my deposit guarantees that the price noted is what I will pay. Not a penny higher. 2025 Lariat Hybrid AWD 4k tow.

it's a fee to start aa lease; it doesn't apply to purchase.

There seems to be no way, though, to convince the configurator that you're not leasing.
