I have an XLT that I picked up the other day and on the 2nd button lock push it sends the horn sounding. Is there any way to program the fob to not make this honk on the 2nd lock?

I'm not sure why you would press it twice unless you want the horn to honk as you are walking away from the vehicle, but here is what your owners manual says -

My Mustang only honks if I press the button more than once. It used to do it on the first press, but it was in the options for lock feedback settings. I would expect the Maverick to have the same option somwhere as it's pretty common on most vehicles now.

I was told that, pressing it twice activates the alarm. If that's not the case then I'm just an idiot...lol. nothing happens when I press it once, horn wise that is. You hear it lock when it's pressed once. I guess ill have to find a way to test to see if the alarm goes off after one lock press.

Also, my fob didn't have a security label on them. When the dealer delivered it to me it was just two key fobs with nothing attached.

I hate this feature with a passion. If my truck ever arrives, and they can't completely disable it for me, and I mean completely - I don't care how many times I press that lock button, it'd better not honk - I won't buy it.

Anytime I go to the store or anywhere where I have to walk past parked cars, I especially look out for Hondas and Fords, because those are the worst. At least Honda appears to have switched to a beep instead of a honk on their most recent models. Why I should have to get honked at and startled just so someone else knows their car is locked or where they parked it is beyond me.

I use the double click to audibly confirm that the doors are indeed locked, especially when I am walking away and do not want to or unable to turn around to watch.

Just want to say you can also lock the truck with the keypad by pressing the last 2 buttons at the same time; [7-8] [9-0]

I wonder about the remote start. I turn off the honking before remote start on my Jeep and would do the same here, if possible.

I usually push mine twice so I can verify that the fob signal goes through. Also when having forgotten where I parked I may push it several times to hear where it is. Also rarely use panic button but it makes more noise and flashes lights.
