My 2010 Escape was totaled when son borrowed it for his job while his was in the shop. I had planned on it lasting another 10+ yrs.
Needed another vehicle. Did research - tried out various brands. I wanted a vehicle my 91 yr old Mom could get in/out of, back seat for the dog, able to haul stuff to the dump and the field, plus room for her walker. Wanted a hybrid but 24’s did not have towing.

7/2024 Settled on 2024 HPR Lariat 2.0L ecoboost with 4K tow and FX4 offroad that had just came on the lot that day. Plus it fits in the garage in spite of all the junk. Doesn’t get the best mileage yet, but don’t have that many miles on it since it just goes to town couple times a week. Dressed my Mav up since I plan on it being the last vehicle I will buy.

Mobett door side storage tray, trash can with cup holders, center console armrest cover, dashboard storage containers, rear door storage boxes, center console cup holder tray, center console organizer tray. (Holds a lot of stuff and keeps car un-cluttered.)
Cup coasters X8
Car seat headrest hooks X2 - handy for grocery bags.
Carhart front/back car seat covers, dashboard cover. Paying for the name but look so cool.
Drop Stop - saved French fries from landing on the floor..
8” dashboard glass screen protector.
Husky liner floor mats front/back tray style - saved from getting the car muddy & collects the sand.
Truck bed & tailgate - rubber mats
Tri-fold hard tonneau bed cover.
Hyper hitch 12” step & receiver pin. Did have to move the license plate over to the right so I would not get stopped by the cops. Already have the trailer as I go to the dump, etc 2-3 X’s/yr.
EGR in-channel window visors & bug deflector
Tinted side windows along with visor on front window.
Put a Broadfeet nudge bar on today - well the shop did.
Just need to put the rear bumper cover plate on & install the dash-cam since the kid did not want it.

Do I need all of that - probably not. But I like it.
Salvaged what I could out of the Escape and threw it in the pick-up including the dog seatcover. It’s loose so probably end up with scratches on the door. But just like the dust in the pictures - Live on a gravel road and things are meant to be used.
And even better - It’s Paid Off.
That’s my Molly getting her 1st ride in the pick-up. She’s my rescue pup and rules my life.
And yeah - the kid (doesn’t matter how old they are) - does not get to drive my toy.

I'm like you, hoping to get another 10 years out of my 2010 Ram that I bought brand new. Bought a 23 Maverick for my wife we will see if it lasts as long as the ram without troubles.

RebelRanger,

I have well over 2 million miles under my butt from driving for my work. I have come across alot of accidents and most when the vehicle looks like that there's fatalities. Your son is very very.........very lucky with just a fractured shoulder. WOW!

As for the Maverick, great choice in vehicles. I can't wait until we are in the position to put down the order sheet on ours. We have been going back and forth on the Mav and and outback. I think if we can we will buy a cheaper used outback and a newer gently loved Mav FX4/Tremor. Whatever we can find at the time.

I have to keep the F150 for my work now as I am towing sheds around the province delivering them. But I hate driving it normally. I don't find it comfortable (seats are not power adjust), and it's just too friggin big.
I would love to have an F150 but it’s just to big. A Ranger is too big. This little thing, I can get in and out of narrow parking lots just like my former Escape - the back seats were always down anyway. A small pickup was the answer for me.
I love the lumbar support adjustment - a real game changer in comfort. In the end, no matter what the interior or exterior has, if the seat was not comfortable, I wasn’t going to spend the money.

Yep - drive them ‘till they die.
My 2003 Explorer is starting to have problems - so It’s been regulated to emergency spare. Still get it serviced - but not spending any more money on repairs.

Can you list the exact carhartt seat cover you selected? Was it through Amazon? I like the look and fit. Thanks!

Glad something bad evolved into a good thing. A blessing that no one was injured. Safe and happy travels in your new Maverick. It looks terrific, by the way.

Amazon did not have what I wanted so I went through Real Truck (bought a lot of stuff through them)
Right now 10% off - I paid full price And don’t regret it. Free shipping.
I got both the front and back rows. Easy to put on (as long as you read which side has the airbags so you don’t have to repeat the process…😁)
They fit all the way down the back of the seat and has a pocket.
Takes about a month plus a week or so for delivery. Well worth the wait. Matches my winter coat and overalls.
So tired of black interiors so the gray wasn’t even a consideration.

Covercraft did not have the seat covers I wanted either - but they did have the matching dashboard cover - not the canvas material but more of a knit.

Please show me a picture if you decide to get them - after they are installed.

So far over the yrs count is 10 deer and lots of body work on various vehicles. Really believe in compressive insurance.
FYI - Deer Warning Whistles do not work.
If they would put deer crossing signs near stop signs that wouldn't be a problem, :D

What can I say - been a DoctorWho fan since the 4th Doctor. Got a BadWolf sticker on the back window & a TARDIS in the dashboard cubbyhole.

Love what you did it looks very practical and your dog is adorable. Glad to hear your son was mostly OK. Stuff like that scares the crap out of me.

My 4k/FX4 didn't get great mileage either. It did MUCH better on the highway (provided a light foot on the pedal) than in the slower, puttering around town stop and go stuff. Enjoy your maverick.

The Nudge Bar looks very cool. How functional would you say it is? IOW, would it protect the front end in say a 5 mph collision, or is it more for aesthetics?
