Does anyone have any experience with either of these on a FWD Hybrid Maverick? I have narrowed my decision down to these, but one rates higher than the other, depending on what site I use. The price point is about the same, with the Bridgestone being about $70 cheaper.

I had Blizzak WS90's on my Ecoboost FWD last winter and had no issues, but then it was a pretty mild winter. I had Blizzak's on my Ecoboost Mustang as well and have always been happy with them.

And I am in Michigan now, not FL... hehe.

From Québec here, my Nokian R5s have been through two winters. I live in a hilly area with dirt roads that ice over, did not have any issues and I drove an AWD before (with snow tires). Can't speak to the Bridgestones.

When I lived in Upstate NY nearly 20 years ago (think more Vermont-like than NYC-like) I rode
Nokian Hakkapeliitta on 16" wheels on my 02 VW Passat GLX 4-Motion wagon, late Nov - early Apr. Couldn't have been happier. They were great tires then and I imagine the R5 (5th revision) is far better.

I would rate both as excellent, and I have run both, along with many others. If I had to rate traction differences, it would be a tough call but maybe the Nokians ever-so-slightly more grippy. I would take either though. A good deal/price would be my primary decision maker between these two specific models.

I had the DM-V2s on my '22 XLT Hybrid last winter and I was very happy with them. We didn't have a typical winter in NE Ohio so I can't rate them on deep snow traction but they were great on sloppy snow, icy, and rainy pavement. I especially noticed the improvement over the OEM tires on our fairly tight highway ramps. They tracked very well and also performed like stickies on dry roads in early spring. If wear and loss of mpg weren't factors I'd consider leaving them on all year for good rain tires.

As a fellow Vermonter, I don't think you can wrong with either tire. When I was looking for snows last Fall, the Blizzaks were on my short list (#2). I ultimately ended up going with the Michelin Ice-X because of some crazy good discounts and rebates. I did have Blizzaks on my last vehicle, and they did phenomenal in the Vermont winters - granted, my old car was a VW Golf, but it still handled everything with ease.

I think I am leaning Bridgestone. They are a little cheaper and I can get a decent deal on that at Costco, which is near where I work. Makes the seasonal change over a lot simpler.

Are you located in Northern VT? I have passed a Cyber Orange one a few times and I can't imagine there are a lot around.

I almost got 'em at Costco, but @Discount Tire was able to offer a competitive deal. I also have a 2nd set of rims (the 17" steelies) so after original mounting, I can swap them myself.

And yes, I'm in Northern VT as well. I met another CO maverick owner at Beverage Warehouse in Winooski over the summer. Definitely seeing more Mavs in the area, but only 2-3 Cyber Orange ones.

Unfortunately there is not a discount tire near me.

I don't think there's one in Vermont. I ordered the tires and they shipped them to me. Used a local garage to mount/balance them on my other rims. If you're not mounting them on separate rims, Costco is the way to go.

How long did you have the Hakkapeliitta's? I was wrong in my original post and the price difference is larger then I thought it would be. The difference will be about $300 installed. With that being said, I think I can get about 3 winters from the Bridgestones until the special compound wears off. If I can get 5 years from the Hakkapeliitta's I still may go with those.
