I'd started having issues with my 2022 hybrid Maverick's infotainment center either freezing or going black early this summer. I brought it in to the Dealer with 34,000 miles and they couldn't diagnose/re-create the issue so they sent it home with software updates and said 'try this'.
Just before a cross country trip at the end of the July I brought it in again with the same issue and still within warranty and got sent home with the same message "we can't recreate the problem and we updated software that might fix this."
During our cross country trip when we were driving 8-10 hours a day it happened fairly frequently and the last time it did we noticed the dash and the screen itself were very warm.
When I brought it back to the dealer after our trip with 37,500 miles on it and it was out of warranty we were told we need a new screen to the tune of $750. Repeated efforts saying that we brought it in for this issue before the warrant was up didn't do any good. They told us to call Ford corporate.
We called Corporate and Ford is willing to pay for part of the repairs but they're not going to cover the whole repair. Corporate told us that if the dealer had left a repair ticket open while it was still under warranty it would have been covered but because everything was closed out there was no way to get this covered.
I want to like the guys at the Dealership that have been helping me out. They don't seem to be dishonest and they've been helpful although it does sound like they should have kept a repair ticket open. Has anyone else run into a similar situation with a happier ending??? It seems like complete B.S. to me.
