After much delay, I am finally posting my review on the Lasfit LEDs I recieved from winning the contest here: 🎉Love Your Ride, Love the Lights: Claim Your Free Turn Signal Enhancement Now! | MaverickTruckClub - 2022+ Ford Maverick Pickup Forum, News, Owners, Discussions

Kinda neat to have a vendor with a forum presence and a budget to engage with us in this manner.

They sent me 2 packages of 4257 4257NA Red CanBus LED Bulbs Turn Signal Brake Tail Lights | Error Free Anti Hyper Flash, T3 Series Upgraded Version | 2 Bulbs.

That's enough for both taillights. 4 bulbs.

Install
I used a 3/8"s ratchet with an 8mm socket and a plastic pry bar. Pry bar is optional as I was able to get the right side without it.

Step 1 is to remove the two bolts near the tailgate.

Step 2 is to pull out the taillight. I used a plastic pry bar in the pictures, but it turns out there are no clips. You can just pull bar with your hands. It's what I did for the other side.

(Note to self to get the driver's side bed cubby as this taillight was filthy)

Step 3 is to remove the stock bulbs. The upper and lower red ones.

They just twist out for removal. Mine were a little stuck and took some elbow grease. Less so on the passenger side.

The bulbs just pull out and the new ones can be pushed in their place.

For the lower bulb, I disconnect this clip from the housing to allow for more play in the wiring. I reinstalled after the new bulb was in.

Repeat in reverse for reassembly.
Repeat for the passenger side, which was much cleaner and easier.

Overall the install was easy. Bulb access on these trucks is fantastic. Definitely want to get the cubby on the driver's side as that is what made the difference in keeping the crud off the taillight.

The bulbs are very bright and turn on quick. I clocked the stock ones at 0.6s to reach full brightness and these at 0.1s. So, at 60 MPH that gets the driver behind me stopping 0.5s sooner which means 44 ft shorter. That very well could be the difference between a collision or a near miss!

As far as hyper flashing.... I am getting that intermittently. Starts that way and goes away. Sometimes it comes back. Other times it hyper flashes and doesn't stop, other times it doesn't hyper flash at all. Strange! but either way, the above about stopping distance still holds true which is the main reason I wanted these.

Thank you @LASFIT for improving the safety of my Maverick and helping me keep my rear passengers safe. Looking forward to eventually getting around to upgrading the rest of the rear lights.

Sadly, LasFit quit selling LED taillight bulbs, for the Maverick and started offering refunds.
In July I inquire directly to LasFit.
Asking if they had discontinued selling LED tail lights for the Maverick.
This is the reply I received.
Hi, to provide our customers with an better lighting experience, we are currently not offering Ford Maverick tail light/brake light LED's for sale. Rest assured, if there are any new developments in the future, we will notify everyone promptly.
Ejouie,
Thank you for your in-depth post on how to remove the rear tail lights.
I appreciate it and if the occasion arises, that I want to replace my tail lights with LEDs I will certainly refer to this thread.
Thank you and take care,
GB

It should be noted here that the LasFit T3s do not work well with the Lariat trim. The last Ford recall for hyperflash kicked them out of being useful. Still have not heard from LasFit if they have a working replacement. I went back to the OEMs

It's a shame: they look great, and so much brighter than the OEMs, too. I hope they develop a replacement that works with the post-upgraded Maverick. I had one fail and they replaced it with no issues...perfect customer service.

I agree. I thought it was great that they offered replacements or refunds for the LED's that no longer worked post recall even though it wasn't their fault that Ford did an upgrade.

Yeah, really. Who does that, these days? Impressive.

Some members spoke negatively of LasFit for making inferior bulbs as if they knew Ford was going to a recall that would render their bulbs non-working. I thought that to be unfair criticism.

Here is a post LasFit made yesterday.
8-1-24
We have an important update regarding our T3 series red bulbs for Ford Maverick owners.

While our T3 series red bulbs resolve the hyper flash issue caused by the 1st recall software update by Ford in January 2024, we regret to inform you that after the 2nd recall in May 2024, we have received further feedback indicating that the T3 series bulbs still fail to address the issue effectively.
As a result, we have made the decision to remove the T3 series red bulbs from sale.

To ensure an optimal experience for our customers, our R&D department is actively developing new products that will completely resolve the compatibility issue caused by the 2nd recall software update by Ford. We will keep you updated on the progress of these new products.

If you currently own our T3 series bulbs and encounter any issues, please do not hesitate to reach out to us. Our team is dedicated to providing assistance and support.
👍

I bought my 1st LASFIT, right after I brought my MAV home. They have always been fair to work with.

Since the last set of Lasfits worked so well I'd like to sign up for a notification and purchase replacements once their R&D department finds a solution. Next week will be two years since my purchase. The software updates haven't had any other adverse effects on my truck.

I am using 1 @ T3 and 1 OEM on each side. No hyperflash and they light up everytI’ve, so they are safe to use. This approach will work for me until they solve this issue.

Not much difference between the two types presently installed. The T3 series do not have the brightness of Lasfit original offering (non T3).

The problem(s) as I see it, are they were advertised as being Canbus ready. But really they just had a generic resistor built in. As it turned out, they weren't Canbus ready and when Ford made the update, the resistor was no longer enough to make the truck think the bulb was working. So they came out with another version that they said fixed everything, and it sounds like actually does do some decoding, but not only does it not work with some models, even when it does work it seems to sometimes do some hyperflashing before standard flashing and it doesn't seem to be consistent. And on top of these things, the bulbs don't seem to last. Nice that they have replaced them for people, but I would rather have them last. How many times will they replace them before you're just left without?

You may have missed it.
LasFit is still offering REFUNDS.
They acknowledged the problems and stopped selling the bulbs.
I do not know what more they could do.

Reminder: the T3s will not work well on Lariat models. You’ll either get hyper flash, and/or they’ll outright fail. I have no idea why this occurs only on the Lariat.
