I don’t understand why adding AWD to the XL trim is a $2,500 option while adding AWD to the XLT trim is a $905 option.

Something doesn’t add up. Is there an error with the posted pricing guide or is Ford giving a $1,595 AWD discount to XLT orders?
$1,595 is the destination charge. Seems that the (incomplete) price list does not properly factor that in. Hopefully the full price list is released soon to bring some clarity here; that short list also doesn't even list all possible builds.

yea, it makes an XL AWD almost the same price as XLT AWD. Guess we will find out tomorrow.

I don't think it could get drained completely. The engine kicks in to re-charge. So the gas engine and electric engine would be working together to maintain power and charnge. The gas engine would be runing at a hi

I agree that the blue accents on the XLT do not look good. I loved the orange and everyone that has been in my truck loved the orange contrasting colors. Now it's all just blue with more blue...
It would be nice if the "accent" pieces could be swapped out for other colors. For example, in certain parts of Alabama, Crimson might be popular, while other parts of the state would favor Orange and Blue. Scarlett might be a hot color around Columbus while azure blue would be liked in Michigan.

I didn't read all 24 pages, but, 41k is the price of entry for a Tremor now??
Yes, and it's essentially lariat-only. I ordered a '23 tremor xlt lux and cp360, and it was $34,025. you could skip those and get it under $32k - a lot of 23s were ordered that way. Well - a lot is relative. Stastically, hardly anyone has ordered a Tremor.

I'm a little surprised they didn't remove it entirely, but I think Ford must have wanted it to be there for competitive and image purposes. Plus they put all that money into making it happen and buying Tremor parts for orders that never came. If the 25+ Tremor sales continue to be extremely low (less than 1% of orders) I would think Ford will eventually drop it.

But dedicated buttons on the screen always there it appears.
That's better than a multilevel hunt & peck.

Which if done right could require just multiple presses to change options, as I've seen some cars with physical buttons do already.
Face, feet, both, repeat. Defrost seems to have it's own.
I change those things per season anyway, rarely per drive.

But it also appears the "button" press brings up the options for it if that's easier.

I have this screen and Sync 4 in my '23 Escape. The HVAC controls, although part of the screen, are actually on the raised black frame that surrounds the screen. Although it takes a little time to get used to it, the larger screen with Sync 4 is much nicer than the previous screen with Sync 3. I rarely need to adjust the HVAC settings from the automatic mode, so this is not an issue for me.

In Sport mode it has simulated shifts to make you feel better. It's still a eCVT.
The escape was in normal drive mode. Never changed it to sport or anything. Which is why I thought it was odd

In Tow/Haul mode the hybrid does not use the battery much at all.

It goes into what I call "locomotive mode".

The ICE runs in the ideal power rpm and generates electricity that goes straight to the traction motor. The battery does not a thing unless you are braking or passing.
I find that very difficult to believe. How exactly are you expecting a piston engine to run a generator which then is immediately consumed by an electric motor, and you think that it's going to result in more output (torque) than the gas motor alone produces?

there are efficiency losses in generation. not gains.

the battery is required. if it's discharged more rapidly than it's charged, which is very likely when towing, I cannot concieve how the electric traction motor is supplied power from the internal combustion engine and have a result that is more torque than the gas engine itself produces.

it certainly can use the gas engine and traction motor together each with high output, but that has to rely on stored battery power.

But you still can't break the first law of thermodynamics which states that energy cannot be created or destroyed, but rather can only change from one form to another. Any energy used to charge the battery is removed from the energy available from the ICE to drives the wheel directly. So it does not increase the HP over the 162 available from the ICE on a long steep hill.

This is pretty excited news to me. I haven't yet bought a Maverick but have been seriously looking hard. Locally there are several XLTs that are equipped as I would want on the lots but the 2025 has the AWD in the hybrid.

Seeing as I spend time in north Idaho in the mountains...in the winter...I think this options makes it for me.

Too bad the jettisoned Hot Pepper Red Metallic...

I stopped in at my dealership today to preorder my preorder. They are going to place an order tomorrow for me on a 4K AWD Hybrid Lariat in eruption green.

Hopefully It will be less than a 12 month wait like my 22 was.

yes. if the battery is larger and you start a climb with it highly charged, it lasts longer.

but no battery is going to last for 2+ hours climbing the continental divide west of denver to leadville. you're going to deplete the HV battery and then you're on the 2.5 atkinson by itself until the next descent.

locomotive mode... LOL. is that train carrying livestock, because I can smell the BS!

Looks like the orange trim on the XLT package has been changed to blue.
