You mean like try and force it open?

If you unlock you can move it but if it's locked down (key just stops you from being able to pop the locks up) then no it's pretty solid. Granted I haven't tried to push super hard to force it open.
Thank you. I appreciate your time.

I'm definitely necroing this thread at this point, but hows the cover holding up?

I've taken it on a roadtrip and stuff. Never had any issues. I never installed the drain tubes because I usually just have sea eagle kayaks in the back or my mountain bike. If you want to waterproof your stuff in a bed just put it in a big HD garbage bag.

The above pics during my install of the manual Syneticusa Syne Trac-Pro tonneau. I opted to order the ladder rack with adjustable height as well that I did not take pics of during install.

The included weatherstrip at the window....I did the smaller piece under the edge of the glass and then installed the other strip with the notches over it. It is pretty squishy so it should seal up really nice. There are two very small pieces of weatherstrip that go into the sides where there is a little gap from vertical to horizontal trim meets. Be sure to get that installed nice and tight.

I bought camper topper sticky tape to put on the lid to the retractable box to better seal that up. Two strips there as well with the first layer filling a small gap on the right and left. I did sit on the rails from tailgate to window as I tightened each clamp. Oh and I had to lift and scoot the box back to the glass and the little squeege edge is on the glass to get the tailgate 1/8" gap proper.

First hard rain and the drain tube let water into the bed at the window side - I think If I drilled the holes in the bed bigger it would not do that. The rear tubes from the track I ran straight down through the tailgate opening behind the latch peg.

Just installed mine and agree the instructions are a bit rough.

I did use both sets of weather stripping but had someone else sit up on the canister edge while I tightened down the front clamps. Looks tight from the edges now.

There is one small spot on each side near the cab window corner that let's in a tiny bit of water. But it just runs to the drains by the front of the bed, not enough for me to work about.

I added some 90° fittings to route the drain tubes a bit better. (Saw another post about it)

I did loose alot of the bed rail range but leaving the rail lock between the front and middle clamps keeps it useful still. At $1200 for the synetrac pro cover and cross bars I'm very happy.

I bought one second hand, can you tell me what the long bolt on the bottom of each clamp is for and how it's adjusted? I emailed the company and they just reprinted the installation manual and I don't see an explanation. Any tips on adjusting the cover to get a smoother / easier slide would be appreciated. Also the rubber seal at end of the rail where it meets the tailgate when closed is too tight , help?

Is this the aluminum heavy duty adjustable truck bed ladder from their website. It doesn’t show as fitting the maverick but it looks like it fits pretty good from your photo. I went ahead and ordered the retractable tonneau cover through Amazon and might order the ladder rack in the future.
