I have the 2024 XLT 2.0 Front wheel drive. I'm 6' 2.5" tall. When sitting in the drivers seat, the left side of my left knee constantly rested against the door. After a few minutes it became uncomfortable. I found some foam pads 4"x4" x 3/4" thick with adhesive backing on Amazon. I cut 1 pad in half and attached it to the area on the door where my knee rested. It may not look good but it worked like a champ. No more discomfort.
Everything looks better with pictures.

I'm 5'8" with a weirdly long torso. In fact, wife and I are the same height and she has to have the seat further back. So, this doesn't impact me.

However, I am loving the solutions. Guess a lot of short people on Ford's engineering team.

I saw this post and grabbed a heavy foam soda/beer can holder and it slipped right on the door handle easily.
I know there are the thin/softer ones that may also work.

I purchased a couple of gel pads off Amazon. Came with stick on Velcro. I love them. Gives my boney knee a soft place to rest.

A gel pad never dawned on me. Good choice. :like:

Had that problem right away . cut piece of foam from tent pad or yoga mat and covered with old sports sock (clean) . attachment with lobster claw rubber band . problem solved . multiple ways to solve this issue .

6'1" here, no issues. Must be a anatomical anomaly, cowboy syndrome.

I think a Sawzall would fix that problem. When in doubt, pull out the Sawzall.
If you're serious about doing mods, then convert your truck to right-hand drive. It's not as difficult as it sounds......

My issue is with my right knee. I'm about the same height, but my left leg is fine, it's my right knee that rests right into the corner of the dash, it gets quite uncomfortable too.
My concern is that in the event of a crash my knee is going to get broken as it hits right in the spot between my knee and knee cap.
I'm not about to add any foam for anything to the corner of the dash, it simply isn't going to make the situation of being uncomfortable go away. Largely due to back issues, resting my leg somewhere seems to be something I must do; but aside from that one spot, which isn't comfortable, I cannot otherwise find a position that is.

I'm 6'4. and do not have this issue. I think this is more of a posture issue than a design flaw.
Either you are sitting like you have two bowling balls between your legs or your seat is so close to the wheel you have to have your legs at an angle. I have been in cars where the driver seat does not go back far enough, that I have to have my legs at an angle and rest against the armrest or the center radio area. But I do not have that issue with the Maverick.
Try adjusting the seat back a little so you can put your legs forward more like if there is a clutch petal there. and position your legs closer to the steering wheel so that you can use your knees to hold the wheel straight.

HaHaHa. I'm 6'0" and don't have that issue, but then got a small truck and don't feel the need to go mansplaining everywhere.

haha!!...I think it's man spreadin'.
I'm about 6'3" and I find that after squeezing into the driver's seat that I find myself not centered. If I move my bottom to the center of the seat that I have no issue with banging that hard door handle area. Of course, other's experiences may vary.

I am 5'6" and my left knee rides where the 4 faux bolts are. If I am wearing shorts, I will have the imprint of the bolts on my knee. It does get a little uncomfortable after a while. I may try one of these nifty solutions.
