I have been Holding Off as long as possible to get these recalls done. At 6,100 miles I decided to get my 1st (free) oil change and take care of all these recalls. I hope 🤞 and Pray 🙏 that "The Twinkie" survives these recalls and is unaffected by installing the updates. I sure hated to screw up a perfectly running vehicle and take the chance. I will keep you all informed if anything strange happens to the Maverick as a result. Happy Mavericking!

Edit: After looking at the receipt, I see they put synthetic blend in my Hybrid. I was a little upset with that and called the service dept to verify. They (Ford) said all ford vehicles get synthetic blend (except Mustang GT). I should have requested full synthetic from the beginning. I told them that I will be changing the oil myself asap to get full synthetic in my Maverick.

Edit#2, I just sent them a copy of the owners manual (page 374) showing that Hybrid's require full synthetic oil.

Edit#3, The next day, Ford asked me to bring "the Twinkie" back in and they installed the correct motor oil. They also told me that the correct motor oil (full synthetic) was originally put in the truck the 1st time, but they changed it again anyway and provided the correct verbiage on my invoice.

Update 8/4/24: "The Twinkie" seem to have survived all the updates and has had no problems since doing them. I would give the green light to all those of you that have been holding off getting them done. 👌

Part number for the oil is this:

Engine Oil. MotorCRAFT SAE 0W 20 API SN/SN. | FordUS

As long as they put 0W-20 in, that should be full synthetic. 0W-20 doesn't come in synthetic blend.

Still bogus it's on the worksheet though. You don't want any warranty issues, although humorous the dealer would be cause for the screw up/

Bottle says one thing, the description states " Full Hybrid EV Gas (FHEV). Premium Synthetic Blend Motor Oil Quart." Hard to know what was put in.......

Based on the oil part number on your bill, it does look like you got full synthetic!

XO0w20BFS FS is for full synthetic, b should be for bulk!

The 0W20QFS is full synthetic by the quart

I see that the text says "synthetic blend" That just looks like the standard text that is used w/ the oil change. They are putting in "02FOZFREE" in as a menu item, and the text is automatically populating. Most vehicles take synthetic blend, so that is why the text says that.

The Castrol folks disagree with your statement about 0W-20.
WHAT TYPE OF OIL IS A 0W-20?
To make a 0W-20, high quality base oils and strong additives are needed. The base oils must be able to protect and flow at very low temperatures. Typically, a large amount of synthetic oil is needed to allow the oil to flow well at these low temperatures. 0W-20 motor oils require synthetic base oils and are either full synthetic or part synthetic (synthetic blend) motor oil; 0W-20 oils are not conventional (or mineral) motor oils. And the additives must be thin enough to move well but still protect these newer advanced engines."

Argue all you want, Motorcraft oil does not presently come in semi-synthetic 0W-20. It’s synthetic only.

And yet Motorcraft oil 0W-20 can still be purchased as a Synthetic Blend

Motorcraft 0w20 Synthetic Blend Motor Oil 12x1 Quarts

As for presently who knows if a small Ford dealership still has some bulk 0W20 Synthetic Blend that they put in mistakenly.

I agree with the OP to have the oil changed again to be absolutely sure and to have the proper documentation in case of warranty work in the future.

The laziness of some dealerships still amazes me.
They need to state exactly what was done and what was put in.

Not doing that correctly raises doubt in what they actually did.

I do not have explicit trust in dealerships service so I always verify the documentation.

Dealerships are not buying NOS oil off Amazon in quantity.

I agree wholeheartedly about the laziness and lack of documentation. This is a bigger deal for us because it affects warranty.

I will just do my own oil changes. I'm use to it and it's an excuse to get under the vehicle and see how it's doing, once a year.

I like all the mods you did to your truck. That's the best looking Mav in that color that I have seen on this site. Leave well enough alone. don't add anything else!
