I constantly use a folding ramp to put my dirtbike in the bed of my truck and constantly have to use a piece of cardboard to protect the top of the tailgate that is all plastic. I've misplaced the cardboard a few times and scratched the crap out of top of my tailgate. I was thinking of buying a rubber mat and cutting it to size but does anyone else have a better suggestion? I might just glue a right angle piece of plastic to it as well and call it done.

I'm open for suggestions. It's a typical folding ramp but the end is a right angle and where it butts into the tailgate is what is rubbing. There's no easy way to attach anything to the smaller angle that connects to the end of the ramp. It does not have the "fingers" that you see on the end of some ramps. It's pretty much like the ramp end in the picture I attached, however it's a metal folding ramp.

those fingers usually have something on them already. Without seeing a photo I'd probably glue or pop rivet a strip of boat trailer carpet at the contact point.

I glued some soft rubber on the bottom of my ramps.
