My new Maverick tires and wheels

Hello everyone, I just received my new Maverick 10 days later, I put these RRW wheels on it with 245/65/17 Toyo Open Country tires, I hope you like it like I do.

OP, what are the specs on those wheels? I've been wanting to pick them up for my Mav, on eBay they show and offset of +32 versus stock being +27.5 I think, I was worried they wouldn't work. Also, do you think they'd work with the stock tires?

Load Rating: 2100 lbs
Center Bore: 63.5 mm (hub-centric )
Backspacing: 5.76"
TPMS compatible

I'm not sure or if not someone can correct me, the original size of the tire is 225/65/17, the original Ford wheel is 7" wide, in the RRW it is 8" inch more, if so it would not fit or it would stretch too much which could damage the new wheels if you decide to buy them.

I hadn't heard of this wheel company before... I like the RR5-S wheels and now considering them. How much did the wheels weigh?

What is your opinion regarding ride quality? I have the same tires in that same size. I’ve found them impressive in snow, mud and pavement.
Just looking for other opinions since these are my first experience with A/T tires so I can’t make comparisons.

Never heard of RRW? Not sure on specifics for this wheel but some Taco owners run the RR7's because they are 27 pounds. The real reason is beadlock though. Most are over 30 pounds.

The key is in the rating. E rated tires will be stiffer and SL's will be softer. As for A/T's in general, a little more roll to them compared to something more pavement focused, but if your goal is year round coverage, most the good ones will offer 3 peak ratings which is usually achieved by running higher silica compounds, or softer rubber essentially. Also helps to decrease rolling resistance during winter.

I'm not OP, and I'm not currenty running the Toyo's on this truck, but I have ran both the older versions and the newer ones. I found in comparison to something a bit meatier like a Wildpeak AT3W or KO2, they are better for if the majority of your driving is on the road. Never really had a problem in the wet but I do think the Wildpeaks are better during winter by a long shot. Especially in the deeper snow and slush, even some ice. I am willing to bet whatever Toyo does next will be a decent blend to bridge the gap and give KO3's and the AT4W's a run for their money. Expect something in the next couple years for sure. They have been the slowest to release some tires in the past 10 years but when they do... they do. Although, a couple pounds is A LOT for unsprung weight.

Basically, the Toyo OC's are more in line with the Wildpeak Trails. More pavement focus and less tread depth. Perfect blend for most Maverick drivers I'm actually still impressed FORD partnered with Falken for those tires on numerous vehicles. For the cost, they are hard to beat unless you specifically want something meatier. Weight wise, not much difference.

I've also ran the Toyo's in M/T's but never much else in that category aside from some older Goodyears (ew, just no). Great company for tires.

I don't offroad in vehicles, so that's not a normal wheel selection for me. When I offroad, I use a SxS.

I looked online but couldn't find any info on the weight of the two they have in the Mavericks bolt pattern. They only have two and they look similar. RR5-V and RR5-S. I think only the S versions are the beadlock. +32 on the offset for both. Weight would be nice to know for sure.

Maybe @azmotoxxx knows? He has a set too.

Hello, in my opinion they are a little noisier than the continental ones that come from the factory, what improved a lot is the grip on asphalt, I have not yet tried them on a day with rain, but I am happy with the performance on dirt and mud terrain.
