Ford Maverick Trailer Hitch Cover Template & Instructions

While I have seen several articles modifying a hitch cover to fit the gap on Mavericks with a trailer hitch. I have noticed that the dimensions that have been shared are different from one to the other. This leads me to believe that the hitch installation has an exceptional amount of tolerance and would cause inconsistent location dimensions. Attached are two PDF files, a template and instructions for making and installing this modification.

At this rate a 3D printer should come with every Maverick so that you can print and complete your truck at home! Hahaha

Do you have a .STL file?

This is not 3D Printed, but instructions to create a template to modify P/N NZ6Z-17F000-AB from Ford. NZ6Z-17F000-AB is the piece that would be installed if you did not have a trailer hitch. An STL would be useless as I have seen that the dimensions appear to be slightly different from truck to truck.

Nope, you have to wriggle and force it into position. It is really tight on the thickness of the hitch and it needs to fit behind the bumper on the sides.

This is not 3D Printed, but instructions to create a template to modify P/N NZ6Z-17F000-AB from Ford. NZ6Z-17F000-AB is the piece that would be installed if you did not have a trailer hitch. An STL would be useless as I have seen that the dimensions appear to be slightly different from truck to truck.

Cute. But, in my apartment complex parking lot, I would worry about its disappearing. I bought the standard black plastic with the Ford logo on it, and I still worry about its disappearing. As the aftermarket people start kicking in on our Maverick, all kinds of stuff is going to show up. When the Miata first came out, Mazda's options were pretty bare-boned, but they promised the aftermarket folks that they would not change the design for 5 years. Within a year or two, there were $100,000 worth of aftermarket options available for the Miata. I bought a BUNCH of them!
