Power adaptor

Could you use this to tap power for a camera or rearview mirror of the maverick without tapping the factory wires or running a curcuit to the fuse box? I know there is a connection in the overhead.

I haven’t tried this myself. I really would like to ditch the wire to my dash cam.
unfortunately, from everything I have read, that is only for fords with power to the mirrors mirrors, which the maverick does not have. Look or threads about the home link mirror. I am sure those will have suggestions for the best way to find power.

I know we don't have the mirrors installed. But I believe the five pin type connector is there (feeding the dome lights/sunroof?). I haven't pulled the overhead cover yet but if it is there I wonder if anyone knows if the pin outs are the same

The dome light connector is larger.

I don't believe so. I think it is a single-row 8-pin connector.

Ford is using a 16 pin plug from some where near the overhead console to install these. Does anyone have the ford install Instructions for the factory accessory?

I'm going to try this. The fitcamx uses the same plug for their install. So I'm hoping it will also work without tapping wire or adding a curcuit.

It's using the OBD under-dash connector, not the mirror.

There are three different models. Only the one that tracks your speed(gps) uses the old port I believe. I could be wrong!! And may very well be wrong.

I guess I was wrong. I thought people were running wires down to the fuse panel.

After watching that video, it seems like a really easy tap in. I think I am going to tie into that for my dash cam.

I don't know why I'm always trying to reinvent the wheel. I guess it's the engineer in me. I'm just going to make two pass through harnesses. Using
Molex connectors like someone else posted.
12 pin Connector with
