That little car had some "kick" to it! Fun to drive!!Owned a 2door 5speed Plymouth Neon for years. Always delivered 30mpg and was fun to drive. With over 200k on it, floodwaters took it out.
Chapman Ford in NE Philly. I am in New Hope. Also had an oil change done at Fred Beans in Doylestown, since they are closer to me.Curious where you got it if you don't mind. I saw the area code so I figure we're not too far apart. I'm in Bucks county
Ah New Hope, nice town was there at Christmas. I'm about 20 minutes south. I stopped at Chapman Ford in Horsham the other day they actually had a few Mavericks on the lotChapman Ford in NE Philly. I'm going to assume why you think that is and I'm not looking to argue that whole thing, but I think they're likely to go under regardless and so is Ford. The rest of the industry will change, the big three are either going to go under or make some changes or just become a domestic truck manufacturer. And that's fine if they can make a living on that, but I think a lot of that hardcore demographic isn't going to be buying anything in 30 years. If she keeps going on her present course, Merry Berry could be the last head of General Junk.
Yeah, Chapman in Philly does not really have a waiting room where I can work while the truck is being serviced. Fred Beans has a nice waiting room.Ah New Hope, nice town was there at Christmas. Thanks for the info. The closest Ford dealer to me is Fred beans langhorne, but I've heard of some kind of negative things about them. I'm currently on the fence debating whether to get one at all, some of the problems I've seen out here make me hesitant, and if I do whether I'm going to get the EB or the hybrid.Yeah, Chapman in Philly does not really have a waiting room where I can work while the truck is being serviced. Chapman had a deal back in 2021 on the Mav so I took it to Fred Beans to match since they were closer and they would not match so I was happy to purchase from Chapman. They were top notch all the way, no games etc. It just took 16 months. Now I hardly drive so most of the time it just sits in the garage. I am pleased with the Maverick and hope to keep it a long time but the recalls do have me a little concerned.
Love finger lakes. When my wife and I were newly married (1995) I traded in my 93 Jetta (5spd she couldn't drive it) for a , wait for it, 1995 Dodge Neon Sport so that my wife had a reliable car for her work commute. I inherited her grandpa handmedown (early model Olds 98).. At that point in my life I had already owned 12 cars and had never owned a domestic (Ford, Chrysler, GM) car. So, working in manufacturing and feeling proud of what 'North American Know-How' could do... I decided to give Chrysler a chance on a domestically produced compact car.
We knew within 3 months it was a mistake. That automobile not only broke down frequently, but sometimes in a very scary fashion (like the rear brakes completely locking up when tapping them to disengage the cruise control on an interstate, resulting in a spin). We were young and broke... and counting the days until we were no longer upside down on the thing... Just no confidence that the thing was going to operate correctly and get my wife to her job consistently. Traded In for a super reliable 1996 Honda Civic EX purchased new from Mohawk Honda in Schenectday NY. We had that lovely car for almost 8 years (a friend hit a deer with it in the Adirondack Mountains at high speed and destroyed it).
Sometimes you just know. I wanted America to produce a compact car that I could drive confidently. It wasn't to be. At that point in my life I knew Hondas, Volkswagens, Volvos, and SAABs.... and I went back to the more reliable of the 4.
I know, long story, but fully appreciate you not having confidence in your vehicle... And you need to have that living in the Finger Lakes (I lived in many places in the world, and I consider the Finger Lakes an absolute undiscovered and underestimated gem... Good on you for living there!). My wife and a dear friend, the Reading Room B&B, on Seneca Lake, so many years ago.

I felt that way about my last Honda, a 2014 Accord LX-MT. Once upon a time, Honda used to be a good brand. Not so much any more!!I've had more than a few vehicles over the years that caused me to lose all level of confidence in. When that feeling strikes, there is only one solution. Get rid of it and get rid of now. Getting in and turning the key at 5AM, cold and snowing and wondering if the rig is going to get you to work is never a feeling I was willing to live with.
Good luck.
I've had a few weird issues mostly with the radio, but overall I really love my Maverick EB. Had ordered a 24 Mav and also a 24 Ranger - decided to skip out on both. That is because people don't jump on the forums to say, "my vehicle didn't have any issues today, it's great!"
Hybrids do have some issues but you can find issues with most vehicles.
Forums attract two types, enthusiasts and people that have an issue looking for help so of course the number of problem posts are skewed. This forum does reflect the fleet. The fleet with Troublesome quirks.
No worries. Recently acquired a ‘24 hybrid XLT. Encountered no issues other than the minor recall regarding a faulty notification upon detecting a taillight outage and some dropped features when the ‘23 order was moved to a ‘24 model. 1st tank returned 42 mpg. Drove an EB model and while the truck was peppy, stayed with the hybrid, which is not a performance slouch for the fuel economics. Thanks for the info.
