I was searching for the Ford site for discount and rebate offers for the Maverick I have on order and found a link from the Ford site to an organization called We Salute. According to the information on both the Ford and We Salute sites, We Salute + (paying) members who are veterans qualify for X pricing on certain Ford vehicles (including Maverick). Currently their annual membership fee is $59.95 plus a $4.95 processing fee for the first year. Discounts for other products are included in the membership.
Does anyone have any experience with this organization? What are the discounts associated with the X plan?
Here's the link Ford sent me to after they informed me I was not eligible for the military discount.

Plans and Pricing | WeSalute

I dug a little deeper and found that you must be a paid annual member for 90 days prior to using the offer.

I don't like having to pay to get a Veteran discount. A lot of places give military discount, just have to ask. As I see it, these companies who charge you to get these discounts are just making money off the backs of the Veterans.

One other thing to consider besides what @Superg0 has already suggested is make sure your dealer accepts X plan pricing. Especially before you spend the money on a membership.

I know they are suppose to but I've read many times on here and on other forums that the customer went in to purchase the vehicle they ordered but didn't ask the dealer ahead of time and the dealer refused to honor X plan.

I received a military (veteran) discount by applying to Ford’s program for LEO, Military and EMT. It was free and knocked off $500.

And also remember, using X-Plan will cap the state Doc Fee at a flat $100. Some states it's several hundred dollars. I used Mustang Club of America (I do own a 2006 Mustang GT) and it saved me over $350 on the Doc Fee. With the $50 club fee. And yes, make sure you get the affiliation club membership early enough to qualify for the 90 day minimum. 👍

Yes, make sure they honor Xplan first. Most will not for Maverick’s on the lot. Only special order ones. XPlan for me was about $500 under MSRP

AFIK there is nothing about the Doc fee that is "state". There is no required state doc fee. Yes some of this fee covers documents like titles required by the states. But then again, you would not buy a vehicle without a title. Some states do limit the amount a dealer can list as a Doc fee. I believe these fees were initially just a normal cost of business that dealers decided to pass on to customers for additional profit. They should be limited to something reasonable. IMO

Yes it's legit, but cuts off veterans at 24 months from last day of service

X plan allows dealer to charge $275 admin fee to cover cost associated with honoring it. My dealer only charged his admin fee of $175

Ahh, I'm not sure if it changed when I applied back in October of last year (23).
I retired in 2017 with 28 years of service and that's the difference?

It requires the use of ID.ME app for validation which I use for other military retiree & veteran perks.

I logged back and applied for a cert, the program didn't ask for any dates, etc.
It relies on the military (veteran) status I've entered in my ID.me profile for military (see my posted pic). I don't agree with the two year limit for veteran discount as you served and that's what matters in my book (Sapper too?? Nice!).

Rich - I'd try (if you haven't already) build a military / veteran status ID in ID.me if you haven't already, the follow the process to apply for the discount certificate.

If that doesn't work & you are working with a dealership already, just ask if they'd knock $500 off as Veteran who is outside of the 2 year window from discharge and see if that would work and maybe say "I'll send a copy of my DD-214" for verification.

ID.me will most likely ask for a copy of your DD214 for verification. I think I skirted that by sending front & back copies of my retiree ID.

Let us know if that works / doesn't work or tried.

Close. X Plan is actually .4% under invoice + $275 admin fee.

This is also not correct.

If a dealership participates in plan pricing (AXZD) they cannot deny plan pricing on an eligible vehicle. Hard stop.

States "ALLOW" their dealers to charge a DOC, up to their set limit. IT IS NOT A REQUIREMENT. In Maryland, that limit is $500, so my dealer charged me $500. So, it is possible - not probable - to find a dealer who does NOT charge a DOC. The money goes to the DEALER, not the state.
