Question - Do you just get points for buying the truck? My dealer said I get 2 free oil changes but didn't load any points in my account. He said service would know about it, but I do my own oil changes and want to use the points for something else. Any thoughts?

Tell them you did not agree to have them convert your points to oil changes. They are your points to spend on what YOU want, not what THEY want.

This is possible, but two oil changes don't cost $210. I won a free oil change playing Cornhole, lol, they could just include 2 changes as a marketing thing - train customers to come in for changes, at the cost of 2 free.

At the dealer it certainly does cost 210 for 2 oil changes. At least here it does. I get my mavericks services done at the dealership.

the works with semi synthetic in my ecoboost is 79.99 any day and I frequently get coupons for 64.99. full synthetic probably is 99 + tax, I haven't paid close attention, but that is right there. you guys are right.

... I got the... TRAILER HITCH RECEIVER with mine...
I deleted the hitch receiver on my '23 order, at the suggestion of my salesperson (it got scheduled soon afterward). I may need the receiver later this year and was considering getting a local dealer to install one for me, as they have a very large/reputable body shop.

Do you recall how much the receiver & installation cost?

Cost of the plan I chose from Granger was $1,125.00. Points reduced my out-of-pocket to $753.00
I may look into this. I didn’t purchase the extended warranty when I bought my 24 so after 36k I may look into buying one of these packages from granger. Has anybody dealt with this yet having to actually use it yet after their initial warranty was up?

I had enough points (42K from my first Maverick, 42K for my second, I believe 11K for getting the Ford Visa, plus the money I'd spent earning more points) that the receiver and the wiring kit didn't cost me anything. I had it installed at a local shop, actually recommended by the dealer, for about $100, which included a veteran's discount.

It looks like the current cost of the hitch and wiring kit is up to $485 now, so if you have your 42K points, that would bring the parts down to $275, but I'm sure your local shop would beat Ford's installation cost. It's showing $264 for the wiring and $156 for the hitch. At those totals, if you don't have a lot of points, it might be a better deal to go to U-Haul. My local U-Haul has the hitch, wiring harness, and installation at about $480.

Nope!
They took away some points in the two Januarys, ‘23 & ‘24, after having bought in Jan ‘22. Not a lot, but it happened with no advance warning.

So……. be aware!

Thanks for all the info. It is appreciated.

I only have a few Ford points left, so I'll be paying for the receiver out of pocket. My town is very small (about 2k pop.), so no U-Haul, except at the NAPA store, where they have pick up & drop off of U-Haul rental items. We do have a good body shop though, so I'll probably talk to them when the time comes to get a hitch receiver.

Hello,

I just got my new Maverick and am waiting for the Ford Pass Points to hit my account -- Trying to figure out what to buy with them. At first I thought heavy duty floor mats, then I realized I couldn't wait a month for those and ordered some just this afternoon from Rough Country.
My next thought is the Ford Dashcam they offer (https://accessories.ford.com/dashcam-140-dash-camera-1), and then have it installed at the dealer.

45,800 points for the Camera, and 19,200 for the Install, so I would have to pay out the difference of like - $115 give or take, I don't see many other options that I like on the website.
  • What did you buy with them?
  • Would you buy it again?
  • Suggestions on what to get?

Thanks! Have a great day
-Logan
I am using them for oil changes, and anything else that I need done at Ford. Accessories are a lot cheaper on line, then at Ford, so it's up to you.
