Finally got to get my snow legs with the Mav. Started not to go as it’s 9 degrees here with a windchill of -7 and snow was piled high on the Mav. By time I got snow off the windows I was freezing. My hands felt like block of ice as I have duprytens and can’t wear gloves. Had to curtail fun as wife wanted to go so no donuts just a bunch of fishtails. Got about 6-7 inches so far and still snowing.

It was such a dry snow I just took the cordless leaf blower out and blew all the snow off the truck in just a couple of minutes. Easy peasy.
Probably 4 in of snow here. More on the way Thursday.

Funny you mention the leaf blower, as I got back from my loop of the city I passed a neighbor that was doing just that. I had never thought of using a leaf blower. The snow here was really dry also, sure would have been a lot warmer than using my small ice scraper. I had to stop twice and sit in the Mav holding on to the heated steering wheel.

my Mav just hit 30,000 today on my trip from West Memphis to Bentonville averaged just over 40mpg in my AWD Lariat. Was showing almost 42mpg until I decided to travel up 71 from Alma. Those twisty hills just aren’t good for using cruise control, but the views were worth it. Got to be sure to make that drive again this fall.

Just got back from a great trip in northwest Arkansas flea-marketing around Bentonville and a trip over to Pea Ridge park. Total trip 785 miles averaged 35.7 mpg hand calculated.

Howdy, how’s going over there in the hills, same old crap here in the flatlands. Was thinking of moving over that way if our son got teaching job over in Bentonville. But didn’t happen, he’s put in for a couple of other positions got to happen soon though as his current school said they’d give him until end of May to decide to stay or go. Hope it happens want to move to hills and be close to grandkids.

Hello from NWA! I used to live out near Benton, so very familiar with that area. NWA is better on the eyes, worse on the wallet and old aching bones.

Bentonville is growing FAST! with the new Walmart Home Office nearing occupation, more people are coming. More teachers will be needed. If not Bentonville, then the surrounding communities.

If you or your son is remotely interested in Mountain biking....this are is the place.

Your son might also look at the charter schools (several of them in town) to broaden their serach.

Thanks for info. It might be too late this year as he needs something in place in just 10 days otherwise he will stay where he’s at for another year. Got to have a job. I’d thought he’d have a new school by now as he’s certified in math, science and computer science. He wants to stay in computer science which not as many schools have those positions.
