"Brad and Christine" will chime in shortly. They were the first to install one here. Seems to be the best all around solution. We are hoping they will lower the price a bit as it shows to be quite a bit more money than the Roadmaster.
Do NOT buy a Blue Ox baseplate setup!!!

Yes. Installed easily (once they got the measurements correct) and I towed my Maverick 2,622 miles with it after a self-install. Wasn't hard, and I'm 75. It worked excellently. The DEMCO instructions are not the best, but I was in contact with them almost daily. I believe that my install was the first after their test vehicle.

Unlike the other 2 choices, there is no permanent destruction. The most "destruction" was that I had to pull out the two lower active shutter vanes above the one Ford pulled out (on each side). They are replaceable if I wanted to remove the baseplate. While the baseplate fit, I could see that those vanes were not free to move. They are behind the baseplate anyway, so not really effective. Especially since Ford decided that there needed to be ventilation and already pulled out vanes.

DEMCO supplies a plate for the 6-pin plug that is really too big and awkward to use, so I used a smaller one I had. I'm VERY happy with itand it will not have issues like the other two.

Tweety's was selling them at a lower price, at least for a while. But neither eTrailer nor Tweety's actually had them in stock back in September when I got mine directly from DEMCO.

No problem. If you need any info on the DEMCO install, I'm happy to share my experience. I used the eTrailer video (can't remember if it was Blue Ox or Roadmaster) to learn how to get the fascia off. There were a couple things I learned that made it easier. And you'll throw some codes on the Maverick if you aren't careful, but I think they can be avoided.

I'm about to do my install, can you elaborate on how to avoid throwing codes? Also, how long did it take you?
Thanks!

The install is actually pretty easy compared to others I've done. The baseplate, anyway. Mounting the 6-pin socket was a challenge, and I used a smaller one than the generic one Demco includes. Also, no place for the lawyer-mandated internal safety cable on the unibody.

You will have to remove the PAD (you don't need to drill a new hole in it like the original Demco instructions said...there are a couple of holes to remount it with a small bolt/nut...I used a nyloc nut). Don't turn the truck on with it disconnected...that will get you a code (I was working on the taillights while it was disconnected and thus got a code when I turned it on to check the lights). There is one wiring plug on the passenger side of the fascia for lighting. That also threw a code because it thought a few lights were out.

When I took the fascia off, the first baseplate Demco sent was not sized correctly and they had to ship another to me. So I took my sweet time. I used an etrailer youtube video for guidance. Nothing hard about taking the fascia off..I did it alone. Very light.

Lower 4 (main) bolts need 30 ft-lbs torque according to Ford's Service Manual. My Demco generic torque table instructions did not cover those bolts.

Don't try to mount the plastic PAD onto the upper bolt of the support pieces and then try to torque them at 50 ft-lbs with the plastic in the middle. Bolt is too short, and plastic shouldn't be included when torquing. Hopefully, Demco revised their instructions to do that.

With the fascia off, release the clips holding the shroud (the thing you will have to cut), put the baseplate temporarily in place. You can remove the 4 bolts and put them back in to hold the baseplate. Once you have done that, look at the 3rd and 4th vanes from the bottom (just above the missing vane that Ford pulled out) and see if they are free. You cannot see the 3rd one, but my 4th vane was clearly laying on top of the baseplate and would bind the system if it tried to move...fo I quickly decided to pull them out. Removal instructions are here in MTC, or I have them...just send a message. There are reports by one person that vane removal wasn't required, but he did not do his own install. I suspect they need removal in ALL installs.

When you put it back together, remember the bottom pieces are keyed together. Get it too buttoned up before you deal with that and you'll have to disassemble a bit.

That's all the warnings I can think of at the moment.

Install base plate took a few hours still trying to figure best place to mount 6 pin plug, not much room

I used the included Demco bracket, I just had to drill an additional hole in the middle of the bracket base.

I bought a smaller-than-Demco-provided plate from Amazon and mounted it into the hollow part of the grill (Lariat) and then used 3M VHB tape to keep it in place. Have to hold it there while puching in the 6-pin, But pulling it out is solid as it is in that grill channel. I think XL and XLT has the same lower grill. It was definitely the hardest part of the install. I cut the rubber piece on the back of the socket and made the wires come out at a 90 degree angle to the plug. PITA, but it works.
