I’m certain there is a thread on this specific subject; if someone can point it to me, I’d be much obliged.
Is this in reference to my HV battery or my 12v battery? My ‘23 Lariat has been in service for seven months and I’m approaching 6k miles. TIA!

It's your 12v and you are far from alone. Just search Deep Sleep

Nothing worse than a deep sleep notice on a sub-zero morning!

Did you take it for a "long ride" and did it go away? I have had that message twice in the almost 2 years and 25,000 miles. I took it for about a 2 mile drive and the message went away. It is the truck protecting itself, so it will start when you need it to. I noticed when I had covid, I did not drive the truck for 3 days and the overnight temps were in the single digits. The courtesy lights would not come on when I opened the truck (i did not get a deep sleep message through fordpass) but the truck started just fine. I drove it on day 3 and the next day the courtesy lights worked just like before.

The truck gets driven every day for 10-15 miles. I get the deep sleep notice almost every day.
Does anyone know what the party line from the dealer is on this subject?

I will try to summarize this for you. It has be stated in here that the maverick has a system in place that monitors the truck. The system has specific software to charge a specific battery type that was installed during production (12v) while the truck is on or operational. Somehow during production of the maverick, there was a shortage of the 12v battery that is compatible with the software (none of this has been confirmed by Ford or Dealers, but makes sense to us all). This different battery has been installed in production and this battery isn't working with the software and eventually will not hold a charge.

Recently, some here in the forum have had there batteries replaced by the dealer with an upgraded Ford Battery that seems to have resolved the issue. Some of us after installing trickle chargers decided on our own to buy our own batteries. The result has been good. Including me. No more "sleep" notifications for 3 weeks now.

I recently received a call from my dealership's customer service department as I did not give them a favorable response to a survey after I took my truck in for the "sleep" issue. The person on the phone explained to me in detail that The FordPass app knows EVERYTHING that is going on in the vehicle. The person was able to tell me while I was on the phone how much gas I had in the car and even the date I installed some aftermarket amplifiers! They even could tell that I ran extra speaker wires! The reason I am mentioning this is because if you have Fordpass installed, they will know when you installed fog lamps, cut or splice wires for turn signal indicators, they know when you have changed the turn signal bulbs to LED or installed a 1000 watt invertor. I was told depending on other electrical issues that may happen on our trucks, they may not attempt to find the issue or even cover it under warranty if we have aftermarket items installed. And good luck uninstalling them when you take it in. They already know when and what you did. Big brother has arrived.

Now many of you will attack me with questions to the validity of this. All I can say is wait till you get the call.

Good morning. Would you please send over a private message with your VIN and dealer info so I can look into this battery concern on my end?

The truck's Telemetry can send Ford (and the dealership) a lot of info, whether you use the app or not. If you don't want them tracking you remotely, disconnect fuse 11.

That being said, they can probably still pull this info when you take the truck in for a service or repair and they connect to the truck's OBD2 port.

I only had this happen once to me. It was 3F on a Monday morning. It was cold and stormy all weekend, so I hadn't driven. It was in deep sleep and remote start failed. I made a point to drive more than usually on Monday (maybe 50 miles?). The issue was gone the next day, and the hasn't returned since. The remote features have been working fine on single-digit mornings.

Yes, that is the first thing they do when you take your truck in. They get your history info.

I have had NO. problems since removing the ford pass app! And my truck doesn’t wirrrr, click or buzz when I walk by since I did it. Yes I miss the features on the app but I don’t miss all the stuff with the deep sleep. Especially the no interior lights

Are you sure they didn't know this because the tech saw it when you took it in for the deep sleep issue and documented it?

Yes I am sure as the cloud is the one who told the mechanic. Not the other way around. The information is stored in the Ford Cloud. That is how the mechanic knew. The point is, I didn't know ALL information went to the cloud, like how much gas I have in the tank at any giving time, the date I installed the amplifier, etc. The person on the phone told me exactly how much gas I had in my truck right while I was talking to them.
