Just took possession of the 2024 Maverick Hybrid Lariat Luxury that I ordered in the fall of 2022, and sold (yesterday) the 2023 Hybrid XLT Luxury that I had bought in February of last year to tide me over until the one I ordered got in.

I sold the "old" one through Carvana. I went online to Carvana, Carmax, KBB, WeBuyAnyCar and one other (can't recall which, maybe Car Edge.)

Carvana offered me the most, and the transaction was unbelievably easy.

Drove to Salina, KS this morning (I live in Kansas in the KC metro area) so it was a little over 2-1/2 hours, and picked the new Lariat up from Long McArthur Ford.

While I was there I got to meet Tim Bartz and Sarah Davis of YouTube fame. They're just as nice in person as they seem on the YouTube videos.

Sorry, no photos, but the new Lariat looks almost exactly the same as the old XLT.

Atlas Blue, Bug Deflector, Splash Guards, Hard Tri-Fold Tonneau Cover.

The only big difference is the look of the wheels. Honestly, I liked the standard XLT wheels better, but I'll get used to the Lariat wheels.

I also added the add-on keypad. Now I have to figure out how/if I can program it for my own personal code. Or maybe I'll just memorize the code it came with...dunno.

I've already bought the Kia rear view mirror with Homelink, the tailgate damper, and the tailgate theft lock. I took the all-weather floor mats out of the old XLT (I had kept the factory original floor mats) and swapped them into the Lariat this afternoon.

I'll probably go to a stereo shop and have them install the rear view mirror and wire in the Garmin 67W I've been using in the XLT. I just had it powered from the cigarette lighter but I'm looking for a cleaner installation than that.

I sure like the adaptive cruise control, proximity entry, pushbutton start, and the power up/down on all 4 windows. I opened the power sliding rear cab window just to see if it worked, but I may never open it again.

The sound system seems nicer than the XLT, but my ears aren't what they used to be.

I like the XLT wheels better too. I also enjoy the all 4 window single push whatever it's called up and downer thingy...

Dashcam setup are really easy to DIY. They even make an OBDII adapter for your Garmin, so all you'd have to do is run cables. TBH though, if you are running cables, might as well run them to the fuse box on the passenger side floor and just be done with it. It really is SUPER easy. I'd save your $ and check out some tutorials on YT, BlackBoxMyCar.com, and on this site. All you need is the add-a-fuses.

I found a YouTube on how to program your own code into the add-on keypad. Piece of cake.

If I may ask, how many auto websites did you visit seeking offers, what was Carvana's offer, and by how much did they beat the 2nd highest offer. Thanks.

Any dealer should be able to reprogram the keypad. They do it all the time.

What is the story on the Kia rearview mirror? Sounds like a good idea.

Where did you find a mirror with Homelink? I've been looking online for one since I got my build date in November and haven't had any luck.

Yeah, I assumed since this keypad was an add-on, there would have been some piece of paper left by the installers at the dealership indicating how to program it. But there wasn't.

I found the YouTube video linked above before I looked through the owner's manual. I thought maybe the add-on keypad was different than the factory installed keypad, but programming it is the same.

I already added my own personal code this morning.

Piece of cake.

I went back and looked at all the old posts on this subject. Unfortunately, it appears that the Kia Optima rear view mirror with Homelink has been discontinued. I was able to get one about 8 months ago for about $30.

This is the old link:
