I have replied to a a few threads on MTC when people asked about production, built and shipping timeframes. My comment was "Be patient, at least you have dates". I'm not a complainer, but now with my latest update on the tracker, I'm am totally frustrated. I've talked and chatted with Ford Marketing and talked to my dealer every few weeks to get updates once my truck was in Shipped status. Never did that before and relied on the tracker for updates.

Maverick Lariat Hybrid

Ordered MY23 on 9/17/2022
Rollover to MY24 on 7/17/2023

- Built 11/09
- shipped 11/16 Est delivery 11/26 - 12/ 08. Tracker Updated 11/26
- Arrived in Chicago around 11/24
- Truck was not unloaded ( dont know why ?) and railcar was sent to the east coast for about 5 weeks?
- talked to dealer. Railcar back in Chicago 12/29. Tracker still showing same dates as above.
- Talked to Ford on 1/05. They said truck was now in a transport yard.
Tracker dates were still the same, but Ford said delivery 1/6 - 1/14.
- on 1/06, Tracker was updated. Est Delivery 1/05 - 1/18. Updated 1/04?
(1 day before I called)
- Looked at Tracker today. (1/17)
It now shows Est Delivery 2/07 - 2/20 Last updated 1/4 ?

That's 3 months in shipping !

I called my dealer and talked to the new car manager. Here's a quick, simplified summary. He said Ford Rep was there yesterday and they discussed my truck, along with a few other delayed orders. Rep said Ford is having some major shipping issues and he would look into it. We'll see if anything gets done. I really like my dealership and sales people. I don't think they have any control over shipping. But Ford ?

I'm posting this to make people aware there could be some shipping delays. Mine may be an extreme issue, but WTH !!!

Please, no sympathy. I just needed to vent.

I feel for ya. It's enough anxiety waiting for a starting build date email. I can't imagine having to wait nearly three more months to get it delivered.

Is Ford doing something for the batteries in all these hybrids stuck in limbo?

If it makes you feel any better: two years ago my wife and I each ordered cars built in Europe. The RORO ship hers was on caught fire and sank. Then the ship mine was on hit heavy seas, some cars got loose of their moorings, and a number of cars (including mine) were completely destroyed. That was shipping hell.

I ordered the same week as you- the most basic hybrid because I thought that might avoid more delays- it’s scheduled for build next month! 🙃

Saying goes: Someone always has it worse than you, but i think nobbyv must be that last guy. Losing 2 vehicles during shipping, plus a ship sinking.... No one has it worse then him.

One for my concerns with all these shipping delays is: what shape are the 12V and Hybrid batteries in? Maybe the batteries are dead and that's why my truck is not getting loaded on the transport trucks. It's been snowing and below zero for the last 2 weeks here in the midwest.

I’m nowhere near your level of Hell, but I’m plenty frustrated. Mine was one of those builds in mid to late Nov 2023. It was held “in production” for nearly 4 weeks and released as built on 12/23. No idea as to why it was held, but it never came up on the turn signal recall. It finally shipped on 12/6. Since then my rep has tracked it through New Mexico, Texas, Kansas, and as of Monday it was in Nebraska…. on its way to me in North Carolina. Yeah, this routing really doesn’t make much sense.

The funny side of me is thinking my truck is trying to see how many states it can visit without me. But on the serious side, Ford has inadvertently instilled some suspicion in me over the build process delay as well as this convoluted routing in shipping, which I know is out of their control. I will be going over every little detail of this truck before I buy it and if i see anything out of line I may decline the order.

The sad thing is that in the old days. you simply ordered the truck and you got a call when it arrived. Everyone was fine with that and we all happily lived without the in-between information. Now there is almost too much info on the entire build process.

I think my Maverick was in the same rail car yours was in. I had a ship date of 11/17/23 with estimated delivery about 12/15/23. Since then the delivery date has moved three times and is now in early February. I am also in SE Wisconsin.

Will have to have taillight recall completed prior to delivery now.

Only bright spot is hopefully temperatures will be warm enough when it finally is delivered so I can put the bed cover on quickly. Bed cover has been here since late November. Took advantage of the Black Friday sale prices at Real Truck. Had it arrived prior to the big snow and now the cold would not have been doing that.

What makes you think Ford controls the rails?
Here's a little story, I work in the hazardous waste industry. One of my clients with a rail line into their yard told me a story about a tanker that just showed up one morning in their yard.

Took a lot of calling and over a week to get it removed.

Ford has no control once they pass it off to the rail companies. Rail waits for full cars and then sends it to the destination, using the most "efficient" routes

Remember that. Batteries in electric cars were the culprit.

Yep. And once they got going, it becomes a chain reaction that the ship's fire suppression systems can't keep up with.

I'm in the same boat. I feel the same way. After such a convoluted shipping route, on and off loaded how many times, sitting in train car lots I to will be checking the truck out carefully before buying it. ( Hopefully it's not full of graffiti like a lot of the train cars.) Bottom line: too much time to think about a major purchase.

I waited 15 months for mine got it 9/22. I did NO monitoring of the process, I got an occasional email saying this or that and when the dealer called me, I went and got it. Why watch the sausage being made when you can’t do anything about it?

I can't argue with your opinion on not monitoring the process. I'm retired, so looking at the tracker gave me something to do as I had my morning coffee.

I didn't care too much for the first 13 months (i expected a long wait), but once i got the "in production", "built" and "shipped" emails, i got a little anxious and started looking at the tracker.

To see the Estimated Delivery dates change from Dec 8th, to Jan 17th and now to Feb 20th, It got a little concerning, knowing the truck was only 100 miles away. I called Ford Marketing and also talked to my dealer. I realize there is nothing anyone can do, so I guess I'll just sit back now and wait for my dealer to call when the Mav finally arrives.

Good thing is, I'm not driving in all this snow, salt and below zero temps in a new vehicle. Maybe winter will be over by the time it gets delivered?

My Mav finally showed up at the dealer and I picked up on Jan 30th. My final wait was 17 months or 500+ days. And 2 1/2 months in shipping.
Dealership was great. They notified me when it was on their lot and we setup a delivery date. Everything went smooth.
Love this little truck so far.
