I have an issue that stated today. When the HVAC is set to bring in air from outside it will not blow through the vents even when set to do so. As soon as I set it to recirculate it will blow. If I turn the fan all the way up on non-recirculation mode, I can feel just a small amount of air if I stick my fingers in the vent. The blower fan is definitely working however something seems to be blocking the air from coming out through the vents. HVAC was working as expected until today. Truck has only 2 months and 2,000 miles.

I've read posts that say that something similar has happened after a carwash. I did handwash my car yesterday however I pulled the cabin air filter today to check for moisture and it was dry.

I don’t know the cause, but it sounds like my old Ranger when the HVAC blend door would stop working due to a plastic piece breaking. In that case it stuck so the cabin only got heat. Could be similar, but again, I don’t have a HVAC diagram or anything.

Hmmmm, I thought I noticed the same thing yesterday but didn't investigate further. I had just assumed I had a Defrost setting selected as well.

Does it do the same whether you're using Auto or Manual HVAC controls?

There are automatic defrost cycles which will come on as needed whether or not you are running climate control based on cabin temp, relative humidity and dewpoint. Requires AC condenser to remove moisture. High speed fan may not come on until hot air can be furnished. I use heated steering and seats for a few miles usually two +/- until heat comes on at set speed. The outside air will be closed until cabin humidity is reduced plus the defrost cycle will not blow cold air except maybe some at foot level.

Thanks for the replies. I'll keep an eye on it over the next few days to see if it clears up. In the meantime I've left a voicemail with the dealership and will update once I know something.

Thanks! It’s actually been working like normal the past few days. It must be something along the lines of what @MakinDoForNow said. I haven’t heard back from the dealer but I’ll reach out to you if something doesn’t seem right in the future.
