Ordered truck from salesperson at dealership on 9/18/23; notified truck built on 12/13/23. I promptly looked up the window sticker and noticed the option for 17” Machined-face Carbonized Gray painted Aluminum Wheels for $795. I double checked if it was on the original order and it was not. I'm not opposed to the look of the wheel, but I do not want to pay for it. I'm wondering what recourse do I have with the dealership. Should I insist that they eat the costs of the wheel. Or barter for service or other options. I'm not sure what can be done this late in the purchasing process. I really don't want to walk away from the deal when it finally comes in, but I will if not handled satisfactorily.

Just curious. What color is the truck?

Honestly I would take it and pay for it, it's a bargain as the wheels are very nice and you can't even get the Falken Wildpeak AT3w tires that come with them for the price you're paying. In my opinion those Falken tires that come with the machine face wheel are vastly superior to Continentals that come standard, especially if you live in an area that sees snow since they are 3 peak rated

They may still be standard on .24 XLT trim (my '23 had them included). Look to see if they have a Ford Credit to remove the charge on the final purchase paperwork.

Your options are buy the vehicle or walk.

Like has been said above, the tires are significantly better than the tires on the FX4 or standard AWD package, so at least you got that going for you.

Azure Gray, 360 co pilot, 4K tow, luxury package, AWD.
Keep in mind that the dealer doesn't have to sell you the vehicle and given the fact that it's still in pretty high demand you're kind of at the mercy of the dealer. It's a great option and I would have sprung for it if available on the XL. Maybe you can ask them to give the option to you for invoice pricing but I wouldn't hold my breath, they could still probably make a couple of grand over MSRP by selling to someone else if you walk.

Would be sweet with those wheels. I don’t think you will have much choice but to pay for them or walk. I would get the wheels myself.

Thank you, that's something to consider, I'm in the midwest.

They're included in the XLT luxury package, the window sticker just breaks everything out.

Since when? I don't believe this is true unless it's some kind of Canadian thing.

Edit: just looked and definitely not included in XLT lux in the US market

I'm using the Ford A plan, so I should be at or below dealer invoice pricing.

I just redid the build it's definitely an option.
