This is my first truck, so I am totally in the dark. What does it DO? Looks good, with a nice fit, but what is it?

Its a Roll Bar it reduces the amount that the roof could crush in if i rolled it

They call it a sport bar and not a roll bar.

OK I'll listen, what claim does Tyger make about rollover protection?
Love my Tyger bed cover.

I used to have a Dakota Sport with a big bed mounted roll bar. It was not intended to be a functional roll bar. It was nice for strapping stuff to and hanging on when you're riding in the back, but it added zero roll over protection. Just sayin'.
I really do like your Tyger. It looks great. What a nice gift. Somebody likes you. 😬

That is a nice gift and congrats! Looks great.

Definitely seen sports bars where it says it is for appearance only. In this situation just looking at it being attached to the top of the bed, I can't imagine it serving any roll over purposes.
If there is any roll over protection I would assume it would be attached to the chassis.

Anyways I am considering the Keko one, however it has to use their tonneau covers for it work. They definitely say it is for appearance only.

Depends on the design of the tonneau. I'm using mine with a Ford hard tri-fold just fine just by sandwiching the brackets beneath the tonneau rails in lieu of the lower brackets which also means I can retain the sliding bed cleat rails.

It is a visual modification. For style. Functionally may be used to mount a light bar.
Requires drilling into the rails.
