2023 hybrid brake booster

A month ago I had the brake booster replaced under a recall. Ever since the brake pedal sticks on and will only release if you tap it or lift it up with your other foot. The dealer does not seem to be able to fix it and does not feel this is a safety issue. I love this truck up to this point but it is getting old fast. Anyone else have this recall done with success?

My Maverick was not subject to that recall so I can’t answer your exact question. Assuming you are still in Pittsburgh (as your profile states), and at the risk of being Mr Obvious, you probably have more than one Ford dealer nearby. Maybe try your luck with another dealer?

You could also contact Ford chat or call them at (800) 392-3673. There is also a BBB mediation and arbitration program listed in the back of your owner’s manual (page 459 of the PDF version).

A sticking brake pedal is definitely not normal. As such, you could look into your state’s lemon laws. Just the threat of doing so might convince your dealer that it needs fixing. But threats do have a way of burning any good will you may have had there.

Find another dealer, simple as that.
