Awesome badge, Vince!I don't remember if I shared this before. My dad's first car over 50 years ago was a Maverick. He totaled that car in his exuberant youth, and held on to the grille badge to tell the story ever since.
He gifted me the badge for my maverick, with the instructions to be more careful with mine...
Today I got it installed; a mod decades in the making.

The back plate would be really easy to replicate, I think you'd be fine without it as long as you have some (very) mild fabrication skills. Its just a thin piece of hardened steel with a couple holes in it for the posts to go through.can find plenty of badges but with the back plate is difficult Is it possible and how to attach the emblem without the back plate? ty
I'm pretty sure my dad's looked just like your yellow carMy first car was also a Maverick (Black & Silver 1976 Maverick Stallion). I currently own another '76 Maverick (that one is yellow) and I now own a 2023 Maverick pickup as well. Normally I'm not thrilled with using the "classic" Maverick logo on these new trucks, however... I love the story behind yours... and the badge actually looks nice on your grill!

Whats wrong with a brush-on paint job? I’ve painted several vehicles like that over the years—‘48 Willy’s Jeep; ‘66 Jeep p/u; ‘67 El Camino; ‘42 Ford farm tractor… all you need is a can of Rustoleum, a paintbrush and a lot of beer. They all looked great from 50 ft away.Nice blast from the past! Funny story for you here...my Mom's friend Theresa needed her Maverick sedan painted (blue ironically) back in the early 80s. Mom hooked her up with my Uncle Raymond and he said he'd do it for $100. He did...but painted it with a paintbrush! Theresa was fit to be tied but the damage was done! Lmao
Let's just say that the brush strokes were visible from a lot further than fifty feet away. LolWhats wrong with a brush-on paint job? I remember the old Ford Mavericks (and the Mercury Comets). That grille badge is a great addition that new Maverick truck!
Were practically neighbors. I'm in Lake countyJust got off of ebay and got the screws and back plate with the Maverick logo all original!!! Man did I get lucky!!! By the way "Vinny" I'm in Geauga County!!!
As promised, about as good of a picture as I can get of the whole thing. The two ends of the badge sit on the high points on either side of the oval in the grille design. Posts go through the middle of the oval and through the back plate behind. The nuts cinch it down to pull it tight. Couldn't get an angle that you can see the nuts on the back side of the plate, but they're back there...thank you for the upcoming close up pics
Thanks for the pic. I can't wait to put my grill badge on!!!As promised, about as good of a picture as I can get of the whole thing.
