Really glad your were able to get another Maverick right away. Also great that you’re able to recover some parts from your old Maverick too. Love the lowered look with the 21 inch Edge wheels! I’m looking around now for a similar set because I think 21s are the best option for a lowered Mav. I’ve got mine lowered on Eibach springs and the ride is just like you described. I’ve been really pleased with them, now I need to finish up with getting the wheels.

Just read your thread. Nicely done on all accounts!!

Just picked up my 2023 Maverick Lariat (Tremor) in Avalanche. A customer ordered and backed out. picked it up at a dealer 75 miles away (with only a 2500 markup lol). These really cant be found in Kalifornia.

It rides nice, but at some point going to lower it with the set up you guys did, great info on here.

I really like what you did with the color matching, I'll be doing that too. I have a friend who just sold his body shop but still uses their booth. He's done a couple/few cars for me including my 70'.

Not sure where I'm going to start but I'll be starting a build thread as well.....Hate to have a Tremor only to lower it but it was the only thing I could find out here in a color and trim base I wanted. there are almost zero hybrids out here and what dealers have them are asking up to 10k over.

Anyways, I'll be continuing to follow your build, love this sheot. , Cheers, M

I've been admiring the pic of your '70. The 2nd gen Camaros have ALWAYS been my favorite car, even above all of the hot rods I've built. Slam that Tremor, so what if others don't like it, right? Like the clowns who can't understand why you didn't restore it.

Will be ordering my Silvers this week
Sent you a PM. One of these times I'm in Austin we'll have to connect. Marrying a gal who lives in Jarrell so I'll be there part time (and Utah the other part) for the next two years. I need to see San Antonio anyway!

thanx for the admiration's of the 2nd gen. I've had it since '90, but having three kids and buying a business took all my time and money. Finally got it on the road in '12, then 13' it was the LS swap and T-56, 14' full front clip Speedtech, 15' mini tubs for 315's out back and a subsequent DSE 4 link, then 17 full respray and 20 full interior. So ya, fun project. Got 23k miles on it with the Goodguys road tours, it's seen as far east as Chattanooga and Georgia. Hard to believe 520 HP (420rwhp) will get 26.7 mpg, but I've done it multiple times.

Want the Maverick to ride as "sports car" as possible. I tried hard with my Colorado but to no avail. So the wheels and coil-overs will be first on my list.
I'd like to see what wheel brand @2016BoostedGreyGoose used on his build. I like that truck ALOT!

I built most the Camaro under a thread "dis-traction" on Lateral-g under glassman. Not sure of my next build, as I am selling the Camaro and 911. I haven't really used the Camaro since '19 and I hate to see her sit, she's a race horse and needs to be tracked, toured and auto-x'd

👍

Speedtech is here in my hometown, good guys for sure. I installed their phone system when they first opened in the states.

For the best riding Maverick go with Eibach's. Silvers are awesome, but they ride like performance coilovers. Stiff, but not harsh. I don't mind, but I think I'm going back to Eibachs in the next few weeks.

Did you do any sway mod's?

I'm probably more interested in the coil overs, but you have me intrigued with the Eibachs. I have those on my 911 and the fit and ride are stellar.

I'll have to give that some thought. I'm going 20's most likely and maybe staggered widths. Just not sure of offset and the like...

Have a buddy of mine, Alan, who's built a few 70 Chevelles who lives near St George in the flooring biz. He's also tight with speed tech. If I keep my 70, im doing their complete front clip and maybe back. The car is simply fun and badas$. I love it, need to use it more....Also have a buddy who helped put Speedtech's biz plan in place when they came down from Canada.

ZERO complaints about the Silvers. They're an AMAZING product.

My desire to go back to Eibach's is for several reasons, in no particular order:
1. I'm really happy with how my wheels look on the truck and don't have a desire to go to 20's or larger. That also somewhat dictates my sidewall height, as we lowered guys know that fender gap (or lack thereof!) is a big key in how the truck looks.
2. Because I don't want to go to a smaller side wall I have lots of rubbing of tires on the inner fender, despite having cut away all interfering plastics. Rubber on steel stuff. There is no noticeable wear on any part of the tires, but turning and hitting bumps often results in a SKKRRRRTTTT.
3. Coilovers tend to be a little noisy and the "rattle" drives me nuts. I think this is the valving in the shocks that causes this, not sure.
4. Yes, I can lift the truck to avoid ALL of these issues but at that point why do I have an $1800 suspension system when the same height can be achieved with $300 Eibachs? The Silver's do ride nice (firm, like performance suspension should) and I'm more than happy to have a performance ride to get low, but there's no reason to have a performance ride if I"m 1.5" higher than I currently am. I don't track the truck, it's just a hybrid.
5. Smaller tires? Yes, but then I need to go lower yet to lose fender gap, and back to rubbing.
6. My fiancee is terrified to drive (or ride) in the Maverick because of the rubbing. She will be driving it fairly regularly.

So yeah, Eibach's make sense at this point. Silver's will be available for adoption soon if anyone is interested.

I didn't do any swaybar mods at all. This is my daily driver and I'll put about 30K miles a year on it. I don't track it, but it's certainly track worthy with the coilovers and some minor suspension tuning.

I've had Eibach's on a few cars and they're always well engineered, but they're never low enough for my tastes.

I think I know the Alan you're talking about. It's a small but tightly knit car community here. Roger, Blake and Jay have all become great friends of mine. If I were into performance cars they'd be my go-to guys for suspension, no doubt. I'm much more into traditional hot rods and customs, but I'd love to build a full pro-touring car soon. I just need to find the right car! Secretly, I've wanted a 1st gen Vega wagon to build a full pro-touring car from. Full cage, usable, comfortable interior, nasty LS and a six speed manual.
