What does a Maverick Lariat hybrid weigh?

See the pics of the portable scales. The ones with the blocked view are the left side, ie: LF-1150 lbs, RF-1100 lbs, LR-790 lbs, RR-800 lbs for a total of 3,840 lbs, and a GVWR of 5,200 lbs which indicates a load capacity of 1,360 lbs!!!
Where did the 1,500 lbs go??? Better call Saul

Note: This is with a full fuel tank and no driver. Misc small items in cab.

Somewhere I read they allowed 300 lbs for occupants, then it would be down to 1,060 load capacity.

Payload decreases as you go up in trim level and add-ons. Payload does not include passengers, so deduct accordingly based on the occupant(s) weight.

There is an old thread on here where people posted their payload label and their trim/add-ons.

Load rating is dependent on the model... My Lariat hybrid is rated for 1437 lbs (door label), some XL models are 1500+ lbs because of less weighty options.

Check your door label… your calculated 1360 may not be out of line considering measurement tolerance and interior stuff/accessories.

I understand. But I think it was like when the manufacturers would claim high MPGs that were basically unachievable unless you lived in Kansas in the summer. After lawsuits, the MPG is now a conservative, attainable figure.
I read the sales brochures and expected a honest 1500 lb load capacity with 300lbs of occupants (much less, or zero, if you have the 5 passengers). It is a number printed on a sticker, some of you are thinking you will put 1500 lbs in it anyway, they should adj up to match their claims.
My other gripe is the sales propaganda said I can tow 2,000 lbs with a hybrid. Then after buying and reading the small print, it should only tow 1,600 lbs unless you add brakes (and no brake controller or brake wiring with the trailer hitch).
Don't get me wrong, it is a great vehicle. I just feel it was dishonest on Ford's part. It would have been a better choice to say it can carry 1,000 lbs and the driver, *some trim levels have a greater load capacity.

Not sure what time were reading. This brochure for the 2022s has a pretty clear footnote that 1500lbs is only for a specific configuration, and that max payload varies based on options and trim.

Personally I don't think 100lbs is going to break anything- I would guess they bake in some extra for safety net.

I think you are complaining where no complaint is necessary. Really, once you add your trailer brake controller, the Hybrid can easily tow 3,000 pounds. Uphill. In Summer.

I know I can count on you to represent me in court after a crash or for any warranty issues.

(We all know what will happen, but I think this site should concentrate on what is the correct way, and leave it up to the owners to knowingly exceed Ford's limits if they choose)
