Left Melbourne Florida this morning for Yellowstone and other places out west. Got in about 750 miles, the bulk of it on interstate highways with speeds running 75 - 80, temperature up to 100. The XLT hybrid ran great and averaged a bit over 35 mpg. I'm quite happy with this little truck.

Just remember to pet the bear cubs and pull a Bison tail or two!! J/K obviously… North east entrance via Beartooth highway is really an underrated route… you won’t be disappointed.. traffic this time of year in Yellowstone is still pretty crazy. If in the area the national monument for Little Bighorn is another underrated spot to visit. Happy travels!!!

The west entrance to YNP is insane. IDK what your plan is but exiting there is your best option.. nice tourist spot..

Bring warm clothes you never know what mouther nature will do at 9,000 FT-

Back in the day we left Lake Coeur D'alene (Not too fare away from Y/S) swimming and such at 100 degrees- Two nights later in Yellowstone it got down to 16- Frozen drinks in the van kind of fun :)

Enjoy! Just went from Titusville, Florida to western Washington state and our Maverick has performed very well. Enjoying the 50 degree mornings and the mid-70 degree highs out here. :)

This was to be our second trip to Yellowstone. When I retired 5 years ago, we went there as well as the Black Hills, Little Big Horn, Glacier NP and more, so I agree with the above comments. Was really looking forward to going again and see some sights we missed last time. Unfortunately, back in Florida. Had a trip to the emergency room in Tupelo, MS late last night. Little issue with the urinary system (I know, TMI), so it was decided we'll reschedule for next year. But the Maverick is treating me well.

Enjoy the trip! Yellowstone is amazing! :)
Thanks. And yes it is. Unfortunately, had to cut it short, after a visit to the ER the night we left. Rescheduled for next year. But at least I got to find out how the Mav will handle a long trip with 1500 miles round trip completed.
