Hello: I've seen several posts stating my Maverick Hybrid got 45 MPG, 57 MPG and more. They back them up with pictures of their dash. The only way to have your REAL MPG is by filling up your tank and filling it up again, and doing the math with your total mileage. Anyone can post a picture of their dash for a short trip and have it show 40, 50, and more MPG. I can drive around my neighborhood, never going over 30 MPH, trying my best to stay on electric power and show a bogus dash picture. I've owned hybrids for 15 years. I can post a picture of my PriusV, going down hill and it says my MPG is 99 MPG. If you want to give an honest MPG value, give us a gas tank refill, do the math with your total miles driven and then state what kind of MPG you are getting. Don't go posting a 30 or 60 mile trip and post a picture. I just don't want some people thinking their hybrids are living up to standards.
Don’t be all assuming. I’ve done both and the mpg is within 1. So sorry you’re unable to achieve desired results.

GPSMan, what is the data buffer full of? Individual trips from vehicle start to turnoff? If so, it would be great to download these trips.

Don’t you think Ford should do a better job of documenting these “features.”?
Your MPG display adjusts while you drive? Correct?

When you do a reset to zero, how often does it adjust? Once per minute? More?

Just for giggles assume it is once per minute. Now assume that is one line in your spreadsheet. Now assume your spreadsheet can hold 9999 lines of data to "average". M

I do not know if this is exactly it, but the behavior of the truck is CLOSE to this.

I don't know the exact frequency of samples saved
I don't know the exact number of samples saved and then averaged.

I DO KNOW:

It is NOT unlimited,
it is NOT "Lifetime of the truck".

It is only a few tankfuls.
It is only 120 to 160 hours.
It is only about 5000 miles.

5000 miles of towing was enough to rewrite all the history. Right now I have only towing MPG data saved in my truck.

The meter does not hold 7500 miles worth of data. Something like only the most recent 3 or 5 tankfuls or 10,000 minutes of data, something like that but it's unpublished what the actual value is. So the dash is "fresher" more recent than you think. Sadly, no lifetime stats except if you manually keep records.

Many of my miles are towing a trailer. 2500 of them an enclosed trailer getting 15-25mpg and probably 2000 miles open small trailer getting 30-35mpg. I regularly get 41-45 on a tank not towing anything. If you notice my highway miles are way more than city, and the Mav gets better in city.

I’m gonna have to disagree 😜

Five observations.

If you start a trip with a low traction battery voltage the first few miles will be sub 30 mpg no matter what you do because the engine is running non-stop. If you start a trip with a charged battery than you can milk that into a stupid high MPG to post on FB.

Most people posting super high MPGs for a random trip cannot back it up with a full tank that is anywhere near that.

Most people are vein and completely ignore their low MPG trips choosing to only share the data that will get them a pat on the back.

Hybrids HATE speed demons. 80-90 mph for an entire tank equals under 23 mpg. (see the low peak in my chart)

Hybrid Mavs can 100% beat the EPA ratings. I have a lead foot and my best full tank was 43 mpg manually calculated (computer is always optimistic). You just can't have a lead foot and must plan your braking to only use regen or better yet not come to a stop at all. That said I don't drive enough to care about that so I'm gunning it most of the time and still avg low 30s which matches the Prius v (big booty wagon) I used to have.

The overall, since new MPGs for my hybrid is about 37mpg per the truck's display screen. That's over 10000 miles; roughly 50% highway at 75-80mph and the other 50% running around town.
I have filled up my Maverick XL Hybrid 8X. My average cost per tank is $42. Depending on my commuting around town and Texas I get anywhere from 550 to 609 miles to the each tank. I am happy with my trucks performance so far. Me personally am just concerned with my expenses miles per tank.

How many gallons went into that 77 mpg refill? As in was it a full tank you or you filled up early?

I just clocked over 8000 miles on the odometer of my 23 XLT... I'm averaging 42.6 mpg for the life of the car, that's with only turning on eco mode on longer trips. That figure also includes multiple trips/moving back and forth from PA to NC. I'd say 40's is reasonable, it's all about driving style and I've noticed the mpg tanks once you get up to 70+ mph.

I somewhat agree with you. I have a 22 Hybrid XLT. I have averaged about 36MPG over the 22K+ miles that I've driven it. Longer highway trips are closer to 33MPG (I drive between 75-80 MPH with ECO Mode on and cruise set) and my daily commutes put me closer to 38MPG most of the time. Obviously colder months with morning warmups drop that number to 34-36. So unless you are hyper-miling 100% of the time or your drive is downhill both ways, you're not averaging 45-50MPG in any real world scenario. I could see maybe if you live in a very hilly area and can feather the pedal once up to speed, you might be getting 43ish but come on. I get 999MPG if I back it up in the driveway a few feet and shut it off hahaha Doesn't mean that's my average.
I agree. 36 mpg has been. my average for 30,000 miles

How many gallons you put in versus those miles is the data that matters. Cost is time and region specific. $42 for you is $70 for someone else.

What is the Excel-lile image above from? Fuely?
Is 70h/30c your estimate or was this displayed on the dashboard?
It was from... Excel lol. I made my own tracker. The 70/30 split is an estimate.

I’ve been running my trip meter since day 1 and it shows 45.2 over 8851 miles. I would think that is close to accurate

The OP hasn't posted since page 5 and tried to edit their original post.

I look at my MPT (miles per tank) more than miles per gallon. The 600 mile club is my monthly goal. I average 550-575 in the winter and 620-640 in the summer with 50/50 city/highway and 2/1 gas/electric usage on my daily work commute.

I live at 5800 feet and that trip was to a town at 3300 feet where I gassed up, it was almost all downhill. It was only 1.248gal
