So today I drove 45 minutes to the dealer to remove the hood deflector they didn’t install correctly (another story). I asked my salesman if he had sold my ‘22 loaded FE Lariat Lux Hybrid with my mods yet? He said yes.

The dealer “gave“ me $32k for my ‘22 FE Lariat Lux Hybrid with 28k miles (supposedly that’s what CarMax said) and no dings on my ‘23 Lariat Lux Hybrid on 7/24. A week later it was on their lot with a $39k sticker. It was sold last week (1 month on the lot) for $31k! I think the handwriting is on the wall for flipping.I’ve been seeing more and more Mavericks in NE FL so they’re not the unicorns they used to be. Please think hard before taking delivery of that next order that you planned on selling for a big profit.

For the “other story”. After the service department screwed up installation of my hood deflector I told them to order another one (the reason I was there today). I told them to remove the original one and I would install the new one myself. Twenty minutes later the truck was back with the deflector removed. When I looked at the hood about 50% of the adhesive was still on the hood. I was told they didn’t want to take a chance of damaging the paint. I laughed and told them I could have rippEd off the deflector myself and gotten the same results but I brought it in for them to do because they were the “experts”. Thirty minutes later my truck was brought back with all the adhesive removed. I sure hope they don’t send me a survey about my experience 🤣

Here’s my question. I sort of like my truck better without the deflector. For those who haven’t attached a deflector and really drive their trucks have you experienced a lot of damage on the leading edge of your hood?

I had an Iconic Silver Maverick for almost two years before trading it in on my current Maverick. I never had as much as a scratch on any part of the hood--no deflector. I just hope my Atlas blue does as well.

Never liked hood deflectors. They are a pain to install and remove. I don't like anything that uses adhesive to install. I'm thinking of PPF on mine.

Very encouraging! I had a deflector on my CarbGray which blended in with the FE hood decal but I’m liking the A51 without it.

I was thinking about ppf but how does I adhere if not adhesive? My friend has ppf on his white car and after several years it’s now outlined with black from dirt, I’m guessing. I didn’t like that look either.

Counterpoint:

Just sold my MY22 Maverick XLT Hybrid that has these factory options added:
Co-Pilot360 + Rear Sliding Window + 110V/400W Outlet in Cab
Also added aftermarket: Hard Drop-In Bedliner + Rear Splash Guards + Front Windows Tinted

I purchased it on 12/13/2021 for the out-the-door price of $26,068.21
MSRP was $24,175.85 which includes delivery charge

Sold to Carvana today 8/28/2023 for $31,404
That price is $5,335.79 over my out-the-door price of $26,068.21
and $7,228.15 over MSRP price of $24,175.85 which includes delivery charge

Sold my MY 2022 Maverick to Carvana for a $5,335.79 Profit

Congratulations! Did you have low mileage? Maybe it’s the Lariat models that aren’t seeing the profit🤔

It had 9,269 miles on it when it was sold.

I had it for 1 3/4 years (20 months).

The proceeds from the sale are being used to purchase in full my brand new MY23 Maverick XLT Hybrid that is being built on 9/8 along with an extra cash profit of $3,022.

The only reason I ordered the MY23 was my MY22 did not have a trailer hitch.

It is nice that my MY23 does now have the hitch and I get a brand new Maverick with a new 3 year warranty with no wear and tear along with no Recalls or TSBs on it.

I have had mine for 13 months and now has 9200 miles on it. I do have some tiny chips on the hood and windshield as well. Still debating on getting the hood protector but I did apply some ceramic wax just to help get thru the upcoming luv bug season!!!

I made sure to cover the leading edge when I installed mine.

So did you decide not to replace it? I liked the way it looked on your Truck but of course it would have been better if they had put it on straight!!! Lol

That was the same reason I traded my ‘22 with 28k miles after 18 mos. Looking forward to seeing your’

I’m leaning towards not replacing it but I’m waiting for the front mod I ordered to arrive before I make a final decision.
