So today I drove 45 minutes to the dealer to remove the hood deflector they didn’t install correctly (another story). I asked my salesman if he had sold my ‘22 loaded FE Lariat Lux Hybrid with my mods yet? He said yes.
The dealer “gave“ me $32k for my ‘22 FE Lariat Lux Hybrid with 28k miles (supposedly that’s what CarMax said) and no dings on my ‘23 Lariat Lux Hybrid on 7/24. A week later it was on their lot with a $39k sticker. It was sold last week (1 month on the lot) for $31k! I think the handwriting is on the wall for flipping.I’ve been seeing more and more Mavericks in NE FL so they’re not the unicorns they used to be. Please think hard before taking delivery of that next order that you planned on selling for a big profit.
For the “other story”. After the service department screwed up installation of my hood deflector I told them to order another one (the reason I was there today). I told them to remove the original one and I would install the new one myself. Twenty minutes later the truck was back with the deflector removed. When I looked at the hood about 50% of the adhesive was still on the hood. I was told they didn’t want to take a chance of damaging the paint. I laughed and told them I could have rippEd off the deflector myself and gotten the same results but I brought it in for them to do because they were the “experts”. Thirty minutes later my truck was brought back with all the adhesive removed. I sure hope they don’t send me a survey about my experience
Here’s my question. I sort of like my truck better without the deflector. For those who haven’t attached a deflector and really drive their trucks have you experienced a lot of damage on the leading edge of your hood?
