A few years back I had a Lincoln Mark VII that was the best driving car I ever owned, It hugged the road like it was glued to it with its adaptive steering and excellent suspension and felt it could drive it's self. I'll tell you what my 2023 XLT is very similar to the Mark VII and runs a close second in handling characteristics and that's saying a lot.The steering is plenty quick, positive and very forgiving but could be a little lighter on the effort but of course I'm comparing it to the Mark VII. The only thing that irritates me is the engine noise when you stand on it, sounds like the rods are all loose. I would rather have a turbo and give up a couple MPG myself.

I’d not driven a Mav until test driving the one I’d ordered 8 months previously. Immediately noticed the superior road manners and precise handling. Now after 3 months of ownership, I am still excited each time I drive it. Best vehicle I’ve ever had, and the 44-47 mpg makes it even better 😎

Same here and not much still excites this 85 yr. old.

That's been my philosophy on the Maverick since the day I discovered them. On top of that the independent rear suspension on the AWD's really shines as well.

The top three were Audi, BMW, and Mercedes I had rented while in Germany. Such an amazing driving experience over there. Lightyears ahead of the US. But, nothing like going down a service road to my fishing spot either, or riding my 390 ADV down some trails the Maverick wouldn't do so well on. My previous Tacoma takes the cake for worst riding vehicle I've ever had. Even stock that thing was clunky. Throw on some E-rated 285/70R17's and a lift then a bunch of camping crap... it was rough even with the extra weight. But stock I only have full size trucks to compare it to and they were just casual daily drivers.

Overall, the Maverick is my "I'm getting too old for this crap" vehicle and I'm not driving on ze autobahn anymore, so it's the bridge I've constructed and it is very nice for the type of vehicle it is. I would have never even considered it had I not bought an Escape before it. I also enjoy the EB over the Hybrid 2.5L, but there are many pro's to that setup too. I actually kinda liked the eCVT in comparison to the 8 speed, and obviously, at the pump we all know who the weiner... I mean winner is.

Yeah, bluegills have a reputation in the Midwest as the “fighting-est” fish there is, pound for pound. And I still believe it even though it’s been over 50 years since I fished for them. 🐟🐟

I had a new Audi TTS in 2017. 300hp turbo..,0-60..4.4..Great ride, and on the twisties..wonderful. I did go crazy once though.. on the interstate at 5 in the morning..No one around for miles, so I floored it...at 155 it was as solid as a rock..glad I had new Michelin Pilot Sport tires, rated 185 I think ... Changed my ways..happy with the Mav Hybrid.

I do enjoy the electric steering and how nimble the truck is.

My Miata corners better. Flat out acceleration my Odyssey sounds better.

But wife and I 'fight' to drive mav. :)
Your Miata and maverick might share the same heart. The 2.5 4 cyl in the maverick hybrid was used in many Mazda's, including some generations of the Miata. I want to say the early 2000s Miatas had that engine. Very reliable powertrain overall. You probably know that already, but in case you didn't, it's a pretty cool detail.

For a vehicle that can go over speed bumps at 40 mph, our Tremor is the best handling vehicle I have owned. I have owned better but they were a lot rougher in the rough.
