Is there a hard cover tonnaeu that folds up without stealing room from the bed?

I like to pack my motorcycle in the bed with a gate extender and it just barely fits. I'm trying to find a hard cover that will still allow me to sit the front wheel all the way forward (touching the cab)with the hard cover folded all the way up. Has anyone seen any hard covers that fold up without taking any real estate out of the truck bed? I've seen plenty of soft covers that roll up but I'm not interested.
Red crayon garbage in the picture is where I would need the cover to fold up fairly flat to avoid hitting the motorcycle tire.

I am using a Ford soft tri-fold currently and I remove and reinstall it a lot because I can't put MTB on a tailgate pad without removing it. So, I've looked into this need and found that a Weathertech Alloycover folds and removes easily... but I haven't bought one yet. I will still have to install and remove the tailgate pad.

There are actually several that do what you want, but they aren't cheap. You have the Bakflip G2 or MX4 and the Gator FX and FX3, probably a few others. They are all around $1000, you could probably save a little bit by reaching out to RealTruck and mention MTC. These are all hard tri-folds and they fold up to the cab so you have probably 95% of the bed available. It will block your rear window when they are folded up. I looked at them and almost got one but I ended up finding a great deal on a Truxedo soft roll-up that I couldn't pass up.

Right. Several of them do that, and if you want to carry it onboard with a tradeoff of zero rear visibility, that's an option.

The WeatherTech (and several others just like it) just comes out and you either leave it at home or secure it, removed, in the bed with tiedowns or whatever.

The problem with the fold up covers....is that they basically block the rear window. And some surely take up clearance needed for what you are trying to haul.
I went with a soft roll up tonneau so I can haul a motorcycle and/or e-bikes. And still see what is going on back there!
Security? Neither is hard to break into for a determined thief.

Metal tri-fold tonneau covers are always $1000-1500.

The key functionality difference is whether you want it folded against your rear glass, blocking visibility but keeping it attached to the bed, or if you want to remove it.

Weathertech isn't missing that feature, it intentionally works differently. I want to see behind me so removing it has more value, to me. There are others that you also can remove but they typically have some kind of header bracket that reduces usable space in the bed.

I purchased the Weather Tech Alloy cover for my Maverick XLT three months ago after looking at a lot of other covers. First off, I am very happy with mine and like how clean the appearance is. I have a Carbonize Gray Maverick and the color of the Weather Tech matches my truck perfectly.

I did experienced some water leaking around the front cover panel seal (closest to the cab window) and a little water was getting in the vinyl rail where there is a small joint indentation on both sides of the side truck bed rails. I decided to buy a 6 foot piece of black adhesive stripped gasket at Lowe's (usually used for home exterior windows and doors) and mounted it under the front cover gasket to stop water seeping under the cover gasket when I'm driving on the highway in heavy rain. I also placed a drop of silicone sealer to the vinyl rail joint to stop any water seeping in under the cover seal and the small indentation in the rail. I have never gotten any water leaking in along the metal rails the fasten to the vinyl bed rails that are used to mount the cover to the truck. Those Weather Tech rails are design to force water to the outside of the truck and they work perfectly. Those minor modification stopped my water leaks completely. However, you will still get a little water leaking in around the tailgate area which is common for just about every truck cover I have ever seen.

The Ford or Bakflip tri-fold hard covers can be removed in 20 seconds. Just loosen the (2) thumbscrews and lift the folded cover off. The mounting rails remain intact.. Full bed access, nothing blocking the rear window...
