Yes I love that on my Maverick I also love I do not have to take off the E Brake just put it in drive and go it comes off automatically but I do not like the little jerk it does . Wish I would of had both of these on my interceptor . Sometime you forget to do some things when you get in a really big hurry and a half of a second to a second means so very much sometimes. 🚔☠🤔⚰
Wut? I've never had the e-brake come off automatically. How is this done?

I agree that it's a nice feature for it to go into park automatically that way, but I don't see a good reason to simply not put it in park to confirm. This is the kind of stuff accidents are made of, and they happen. Complacency kills, not muscle memory.

It's literally a design to be idiot proof and people are now relying on it.

There are so many people on this forum that make complaints about people relying on sensors to drive etc etc and now they can add this to the list too. Gotta be honest, I'd side with them on this one.

"Alexa! put my car in Park, I can't be bothered".

It's a secondary safety feature, not a primary means of putting the vehicle in park.

I knew a guy that was killed in his driveway when he stepped out of his chevy dually, didn't get it in park, rolled back, knocked him down and the truck ran over him.
Reminds me of what happened to Anton Yelchin

That's why vehicles have that feature now, a celebrity died from not putting his in park.

I found myself doing a similar thing in wife's Escape. pull in the driveway, apply brake, hit the stop button and step out. there is no mystery when it goes into park, it's obvious.

When your is in park with the E Brake on just start your Maverick up put it in drive and go you will fill a little jerk . The e brake comes off and the way you go . It's just like the brake stop button down on your console . When your in stop and go traffic on the freeway or in line at the drive thru you push that button when you move up you hit the brakes and stop you can let off the brake peddle the E brake is on when traffic starts to go hit the gas peddle and the brake comes off . Not s 100%sure but I think they both work the same way . Hope this helps 👍🇺🇸🙂

If you pull into the garage and turn the key off, My maverick automatically goes into park. I cannot put it in park after the key is off. I did not know this was a feature, I just discovered this myself about a month ago. If you re-start the Mav it is magically in park.

I hit a few of my jobsites today and some I have to jump out unlock gate and drive through then stop again going through. Well I like the fact that I can just stop open door and hop out. Automatically goes into park. That is super handy as sometimes I have to jump in and out multiple times really quick. Now no reason to worry about putting in park(flat ground). Just open door and bail. Hop back in and roulette spin to right and go. Pretty cool. That's all in case someone else didn't know.
I'm really looking forward to this functionality when I get the truck

Going into Park when you open the door....I don't need that.
Try pulling onto a 4 post lift to do maintenance. I open the door to look to be sure tires are centered and stop where I want. That is just one example.

Then open door and start...now you're free as a bird!

While the Maverick does release the Parking brake as you pull away, I too find it a bit "rough" in how it does it. So, I now hit the start button and immediately push down on the parking brake switch. That releases the parking brake and vehicle rolls away with NO hesitation or jerking.

The brake hold feature, which I use about half the time, does not seem to have nearly the same "jerk" as you pull away as the actual parking brake. All in getting used to these systems.

I personally think it is an awesome feature. For those times that I brain fart, which I seem to be getting more of. :ROFLMAO: With that said, I do not believe I will intentionally use the feature, for me it will be there for those days..........

One thing I don't have yet but will not use....lane assist. That scares me thinking about not being in control.
This is the biggest misconception with lane assist and why it gets a bad wrap. The driver must maintain control and regular interaction with the steering wheel or the system shuts off. It is not autopilot and the vehicle is not in control. It's a driver assistance system - hence the name.

As far as the auto-park system, I'll add to the chorus of people that say good on you for finding a safety feature, but I also wouldn't use that as a shortcut or part of regular operation. Not my truck though 🤷‍♂️

Yup. That is a nice feature ... until you drive another car that does not have it and jump out of it in Drive out of habit.
