Does anyone exp the clicking sound of your xl hybrid after you park and shut off the truck. If so, any ideas on what it may be.

Totally normal, all hybrids (from all brands) do this. There are a number of electronic systems power cycling once you turn the vehicle off, from the ABS actuator, to the 12v battery charging system and more. These noises can continue for several hours after use, nothing to worry about.

It's trying to communicate with other Hybrids to initiate the takeover.

They used be to subtle about it... but they are gaining confidence and now it wants you to know...

In all seriousness:
It's normal. Actuators and vents opening/closing, pumps, fans electronics etc etc.

It's not just Hybrids, the Ecoboosts do it too. I would know from first-hand experience. Anytime when I detail the interior and open/close the doors, the car is making all kinds of clicking sounds. I've found it to be totally normal thanks to input on the forum. It just takes some getting used to. I've noticed a lot of other Fords do it too such as the Escapes, Edges, and F-150s just to name a few.

I turned my 23 hybrid off the other day and was waiting in the truck while my wife ran into the store and started hearing all those noises and clicking sounds didn't know if I should have got out and run or what .. lol then found out it was normal for the hybrids

After reading a post in another thread about letting the motor run if it’s in ICE at park, it does something for the hybrid battery. The post also mentioned locking the truck even in your garage helps. I’ve been trying the locking when parked in the garage and the noises do seem to stop after the initial shutdown.

Yes, supposedly a Ford tech told one owner here that the system stays in a ready to drive state (keeps the brake system primed, and other systems on a higher level of readiness) if you do not lock the doors. I believe this may be true, since I used to leave the truck unlocked at one of my clients homes (well off the beaten tack), and that was always when I would get the 12v battery dropping all it's charge and sudden deep sleep from out of nowhere. Since I stopped doing that it seems to happen less or not at all.

I can tell I am old school, in olden days the sounds y'all hear are metallic sounds like heat shields, exhaust systems etc. cooling down.

The hybrid does not have a mechanical brake master cylinder for the hydraulic brake system, but rather an electrical pump. When I say primed, I mean it maintains pressure so that it is ready to work. When the truck goes into full standby it will stop keeping the system under pressure, much like the mechanical system would when you shut a traditional vehicle off.

As previously stated, the clicking noises are not exclusive to the hybrid. My 2.0L does the same.

I only mentioned Hybrids because OP has a Hybrid... I'm fine with my EB communicating with other EB's for a hostile takeover

A coup d'état, if you will.

Must be working so far. It's now the "Default" lol.
