Has anyone added another 12v socket to the lower dash? I need another socket to plug in my dash cam and it seems like there is a lot of wasted space around the existing 12v socket. Adding another socket means I can have a plain 12v socket and the stock one which has my USB-A/USB-C phone charger in it.

How does the lower dash panel come out?

You can add a splitter into that 12v port or do it the correct way and not run wires visible in the cabin.

Look at other installation threads on here for dash cams. They've tapped into the cabin fuse box in the passenger footwell. Much cleaner, imo.

I use the USB A for wireless Carplay, and the USB C to USB A for my Dashcam. Charging is slow from those ports anyway, I recommend a better charger for the 12v port to dedicate to charging.

90* USB C to A Adapter is no longer available, you will have to search for one
Wireless Carplay ( out of stock but worked well in my XL and now Lariat) https://a.co/d/8tkoyzn

Plenty of room to install a new port. You can tap or add a fuse, as others have mentioned.
Pull front of panel downward, then pull towards you. Recommend a panel tool. It makes a lot of noise, but do what you're comfortable with.

This is exactly what I was looking for. I'll wire it to a ignition switched fuse in the cabin fuse box. Thanks!

I changed it up a little...needed a few more ports. The ON/OFF switch is nice to have.
