Just as the title states. What is the difference now between an XL and base XLT. Ford took away the door keypad. I guess locking tailgate is still only an XLT thing.
I suppose aluminum wheels. But just seems like the base features are very similar.

There is definitely more you aren’t listing here. Just look at the XLT order guide. It includes everything XL plus what is listed.

All of those listed above plus four more colors and more available options than xl.

The XLT isn’t worth the upgrade in my opinion unless you plan on the adding the additional packages. A lot of the basic upgrades you can do yourself.

I plan on adding the bed cubbies, Power tailgate, & new wheels to my XL order and it will be around $1700 cheaper

They really don't want to sell XL's :)
2022 no Cruise Control

That didn't work ... Then ...

Their insanity in 2023 was to include Cruise Control - this compounded peoples expectations of getting a truck in a a timely manner

They don't want to sell XL's

It is all marketing and perception ;) IMHO

Using money and budjet wisely My XL looks better than a lariet , - could have almost bought 2 XlL's once you load up up a lariat lux - and I didn't need bells and whistles ....... go figure ... My Story and I'm sticking to IT ... LOVE My Maverick

Cheers

An XL with CP360 is still better value than a base XLT IMO. Hard to believe that with The XL 150 being a best seller, Ford did not plan on more XL Mavericks.

A couple of things on this

1. Ford doesn’t want you to buy a XL. They make very little on them even though that is what people want. A basic affordable truck

2. The problem with the XLT is there is so little you get going from a base XL to a base XLT. Yes it has more color options and more available packages. But the basic upgrades aren’t worth the $3k price increase

If they add something else to the base XLT to make it worth more, then I could see the jump in price. But overall you can make a XL into a base XLT for a lot less than what Ford is charging. Plus you then get to add what wheels you want in case you don’t like the stock XLT wheels

Really the only thing is the power locking tailgate. The bed cubbies and tie downs you can easily add once you get your truck. Power mirrors aren’t a big deal. I moved my mirrors on my XLT once in a year (the day I got it).

Agreed!
Also seems like the power tailgate lock can be added DYI pretty easily (and cheap) with the DIY guides here.

The arm rest with cup holders is another good thing about the XLT option. I personally love the black interior on my XL. All that other stuff They call upgrades is Unnecessary. Plus I think the XLT wheels are fugly. That is why I would rather choose my own wheels.
