Has anyone had a drop off of MPG? I have the hybrid and since it has been so hot, my mileage sucks. Under 30.
It's was scorching here in SE Georgia last week but I was getting 39 - 41 mpg. It was mostly highway but if I was getting such low mileage I'd be having the dealer check it.

New Record in Phoenix. Every single day in July was over 110. Also new record Low temp. The record High Low temp was shattered. 97 is the new High(low temp). That means that it never cools off at night/morning. Several days the low temp was 97.
On a good note... The Maverick handled the heat just fine!

Shoot! Sunday night we ran the Texas border from McAllen to El Paso. The temp dropped to the 80s for about 20 minutes before 4am. At midnight in was over 100 and by dawn south of Carlsbad NM it was 106 and 109 before noon.
Don't mess with Texas. Made that drive several times in my life... Timed it stop in Van Horn and eat at Chuy's (odd place with the funny John Madden tribute... who never flew, always drove... and this place was a regular stop for him... ok there you go.... a useless fact you didn't need, but now it will stick with you.... even if you can't remember what you ate for lunch today! LOL)..

Just got home from a 5 week engineering work gig in Upstate NY... rain 31 of the 36 days. Flew in to Tucson, just 105, so it's cooling down. Glad my Maverick will have the Remote Start..

Heat and Rain, good reasons for side window vent shades - imo

Yeah it was wild driving through there. Whole ton of gas work going on down there. Driving through the night at temps over 100 kept awake by the light of dozens burning flames of 40 ft tall gas vent towers.

Yeah I gotta get me a good set. It may not get super hot in Hawaii but the tropical sun will fry an enclosed cab.

Had a similar experience on cross country trips through Wyoming on I-80 at night... You can see the natural gas refinery in Sinclair for , well forever, keeps encouraging you to drive on....

My back windows on my current car ‘18 Kona are very tinted (stock) and the seats are still sun washed, and I live Mauka.

This is why I love having a sun roof. Pop it open, slide open the rear window and throw in the windshield sun shade to keep fresh air flowing through and the sun out as much as possible. Then use the app to have the A/C blasting before you get in.😁

I am 99.9% sure this is incorrect.

Glass, all glass absorbs MOST UV.
This is why it takes a really long time to get a sun burn in a car. Even with zero tinting. Let's round off and say "regular" glass blocks 90% of UV.

People add coatings to bolster it from 90% to near 100%.
Well said. Most people have zero knowledge of UV and glass.
