I hooked a 1100 watt inverter directly to the drive battery under the seat. Then an extension cord to the bed to run a small freezer. Is that an acceptable way to run the inverter? Also, how long will that battery run the freezer without being charged. How many amp hours would that battery be rated at?

an 1100 watt inverter would be over 90 amps at 12 vdc so I would not expect it to last very long at all when the ignition is not on. probably less than 20 minutes before significant voltage sag.

the hybrid comes with an enhanced flood battery and it will not tolerate deep discharge. you also should not have anything directly connected to the negative post because this can interfere with the battery monitoring system. I hope you have this fused and grounded properly.

different people mean different things by 'small freezer'. do you have a link to it? I think a much better way to connect this would be to a portable power station, then you charge the power station with the truck. but again, without the ignition on, I'm pretty sure you are not going to be able to sustain the freezer's draw.
