Good day everyone!

The Maverick I built and ordered has been built and shipped. I wondering if my brother can take delivery of the Maverick I ordered. He is tied to my household/address and we have the same last name. Do you think the dealer will allow this? I'm wondering if this is a subjective thing or if there are actually some kind of terms that prohibits this. Thanks in advance!

The dealer is going to take a hit to their COVP delivery numbers so it's up to them if they want to sell it to your brother. You can ask. Also, keep in mind that some states wave tax for transfer of a vehicle to a family member so you may be able to purchase it and then sell/transfer to your brother. Like I said, since the dealer would already be taking a COVP hit they may opt to keep it and sell it at a mark up but since they own the vehicle it's up to them. I would visit your dealer in person with your brother to see if they will transfer the potential sale. They would probably be more willing to do it in person as opposed to just saying "no" via email or phone.

Just to be clear, when you say "Take Delivery", do you mean picking up the truck or buying the truck and owning it instead of you?

I meant purchasing the vehicle and owning it instead of me.

This is not true when the vehicle is purchased by a member of the same household (same address) and the dealer is able to provide documentation of such. Price protection should remain valid as well, though as always, it's up to the dealer to honor original pricing and not try to charge you based on any higher MSRP off the window sticker.

Your brother probably can't take delivery of the vehicle, since the dealer won't likely allow it. You have a couple options:
1) Co-sign and own the vehicle with your brother, he can then remove your name from the vehicle later.
2) Take the delivery under your name, and just "gift" the vehicle to your brother. And since you are in California, it should be tax free.

Yes, I'm definitely asking the dealership after getting some info. Thanks.
Yep. Each dealership is different. One dealership might be anal retentive about the COVP while another dealership might have the "a sale is a sale" mentality. So, your dealership is going to be the best source of information on this one.

Difficult situation. They have your drivers license. They do not have your brothers. That will be the issue with Ford but best to ask.....

I don’t think there should be an issue since you’re bringing a family member to buy it. My sales person offered me three different Mavericks all high end builds that others ordered and did not want to take delivery. All of them were much more expensive then my order so I passed. He just moved through his and the other sales people list of those who had ordered. My 2023 is finally scheduled for the week of 9/25 and I will definitely be taking delivery!
