I thought I would post this if anyone is considering...

Rather than pulling the cover and all the straps off my 18" 10K trailer I just rented U-Haul trailer to bring my '23 XLT Hybrid home yesterday. U-Haul actually makes a nice, well designed, easy to use trailer. While it was older, all tires were new and properly aired. The tie-down straps at the front are super easy, and I was a bit creative in strapping down the rear wheels for the 200 mile trip home. The trucks fit fine and the door swings over the trailer fender. The trailer fender does fold down, but I never did. The stops at the front of the ramps are 6" tall, and the (flexible) plastic chin spoiler on my Maverick is slightly under that. I'm sure that the spoiler would have just bent and sprung back, but I put 18" 1x8 lumber under the front tires to lift the truck 3/4". Probably not needed with an AWD model.

I wish I had taken closer pics of the front and rear tie downs, but I just didn't think to at that moment..... But at least you can get a general idea of the Maverick size on that trailer.

Good Luck

Okay since nobody has asked yet. Why did you trailer it home? Only one drive available?
I ordered/purchased it from Chapman Ford in PA, about a 400 miles round trip from me. My wife wasn't feeling well and my adult daughter was on vacation, so I just trailered it...

thanks

There's a reason Uhaul trailers are so popular!

we DID have to fold down the fender to open the door for our 2005 Subaru Impreza.

And when I front-wheel-dolly towed my Miata, had to get the jack out to get the car up just a little bit to get the ramps in and out. The car's wheelbase was so short, there just wasn't room...

Very resourceful on your part. If my wife is unable to take me to pick up my truck that is on order with Chapman, I planned on taking NJ Transit / SEPTA / Uber. I currently have a Honda Ridgeline and towing a Maverick behind it may be a bit much.

How was your buying experienced with Chapman Ford?

I placed an order for a 2024 Maverick Lariat through Chapman Ford. I liked the way they responded to my many questions ... never felt any pressure to buy a current Maverick with the mark-up.

I have not been pleased with past and current shopping experience at the local Ford dealerships in central New Jersey.

Here's my experiance, scroll to the bottom, post #681. I ordered and purchased my new TRX there last year, so it was a reunion for it to see Chapman again and bring home a little brother.
Very nice! Thank you for sharing your experience. I am looking forward to the day when my Maverick arrives (guess it needs to be built first, ha ha).

I’d been more impressed if the trailer was hooked to the Mav and that crappy Dodge/Ram sitting on the trailer.

The crappy 700+ hp, 18” of suspension travel, loaded, Level 2 $100k TRX? It pares well with my Viper, original Shelby, original CJ and Boss cars, Pantera, etc. and is absolutely on par with my Raptor....

But keep driving your stuff, I’m sure you’ll be just fine.

;)

Great post and glad things were easy. You just turned the light on for me. I cannot bring myself to have modifications made to my Lariat Hybrid to flat tow, plus I will not take but two-three trips per year, so it makes no sense to spend $5K for mods anyway. I was thinking of buying an aluminum car hauler, but looking at about $8K. Smart thing would be to rent Uhaul trailer like you did. What size and specs on the one you rented? BTW: the RAM looks great.

Howdy, here's a video, there are many on Youtube. I think the trailer had a sticker showing 2150 lbs dry. It has surge brakes and 4-pin wiring. The Uhaul site may have more specs. I also used a paid of 3333 lb straps on the rear tires...

Their trailer are well designed and easy to use...

Good luck...
