I have two Fords now on my Fordpass app, a BS and a Mav. My android phone has periods of grinding to a halt! I started shopping for a new phone, and while checking settings on my old phone and comparing to new phones, found that Fordpass was quite active and using up a lot of RAM.

Since turning Fordpass off, my phone is back to normal speed.

Anyone experience slowness after installing the Fordpass app?

How old is your Android phone? I haven't noticed any effect from the Ford Pass app. Mine uses very little data or battery.

4years old, running on Android 8.0. The phone has been solid and consistent until about 2 months ago when I added the app. Back to solid after shutting it down.

It's hard to know why it would require so many phone resources, maybe a communication issue with the vehicles or GPS? Out here in the countryside where we live, I often see 1 bar on the phone. AT&T service.

I see several issues...outdated phone, outdated OS (Android is up to 13 now), and poor service with AT&T. 3 years is about the max you can expect from any smartphone. I also suspect your phone was outdated when you got it because Android 8.0 was released 6+ years ago and hasn't had any updates in over 2 years. That's fine if you want to it just for calls and texting, but the latest apps need the latest OS.

Thanks! That's the prodding I needed. New phone ordered. While AT&T may be a poor service, I was getting zero bars at my work store with T-mobile (a dead spot, no towers near this rural site).
