I see black appearance package. it's much more expensive now because it requires XLT lux.

if you want a maverick hybrid for less than $33k, get regular XLT and no BAP. the world won't end and you won't have to settle for a CUV/SUV.

"Whatchu think I rap for, to push a f'n RAV4?"
Yep, I saw that it required the Lux package now..... either way like I mentioned I have given up on trying to get one after 2 years and placing a couple of orders only to be told they didn't make it. So it's either I like the Tacoma when it comes out (yes it will be more than the Maverick) or I go back to the pool of vehicles and see what I land on. Either way it seems that @Ford probably won't have the production capacity it needs for the Maverick till the next generation (hopefully they are thinking that far ahead) and by that time Toyota may have come out with something similar.

that's a weird thing to decide. honestly you should order right now from a dealership with either no deposit or fully refundable deposit.

if you don't want it when/if it arrives, walk away. if you change your mind after the orders close you have no options. the change to BAP is no fun and all hybrids got an increase. I get it, but order what you can afford/justify/drive and go from there. if you find a unicorn '23 BAP hybrid non-lux XLT that for some reason isn't marked up 5-10K+ buy it and walk away from the order.

ordering now gives you options. if you were at all a serious buyer for a '23 Maverick hybrid XLT BAP I do not understand why you would not reorder a '24.

however, if I'm Ford, the changes are doing exactly what they need. they are causing people to pay more, change what they order, or not order at all.

Well when there is no chance of getting one i'm not going to wait around indefinatley, at some point I will need a vehicle.

I preordered in 2022 for a 2023 only to be told that my order didn't make it in because they took to many orders. I tried preordering 2024 at a couple of dealers in June and have an 'order' in with one dealer but they have all in this area told me they have so many pre orders that my order will likely be a 2025 at best. I can't wait another 2 years. And it's not worth it to me to pay $5-10K markup.... otherwise yes I could have one all day long. The Maverick loses it's appeal to me once it gets to the $30K mark. For that I would rather spend another $5-8K and get something in the next class up. Why would I over pay for something.... it may be worth that to someone else but not me.

There is no consistancy about how the order process works, so how am I to know where anything actually stands. If for some strange reason my order actually ends up making it (nothing indicating it will at this point), I will consider at that time if I want to purchase, flip or walk away based on if I have something else already. Either way I'm not going to wait around if I find something I like

Got reached out to by the head of Sales to confirm my order, sent me a copy of the preview order. Priority code 19. Dead last. Knowing my luck, I'll be reordering for 2025 :)

Ask him to change it. I heard most sales guys don't know they can. It defaults to 19.

I ordered 2024 Hybrid. If I decide not to buy before it comes in can I transfer it to someone else?

Sorry if it has been stated before...

DERN, that XL to XLT price difference is super hard to justify.

Mine is 18, but no idea what that means in the real world.

there's risk involved. you have to pay sales tax on the full price of the Maverick unless you're trading something in. you have to insure it, and register it.

to answer the original question being asked, NO... you cannot sell the 'rights' to your Maverick order. the order cannot be transferred. I have seen people try in FB groups. one person claimed they were successful at it. probably what happened is that the vehicle arrived and the 'new buyer' got told to pound sand by the dealership. then the buyer was out whatever fee they agreed to pay the person who 'transferred' the order to them. the dealership can sell it to anyone they like once the original retail order holder has refused to purchase and receive delivery.

if orders could be sold, we would have a horrific layer of scalpers sitting on every Maverick order.

the rights to buy a Maverick would be on stubhub. I know there are flippers already, but they have some skin in the game and hurdles to cross to buy a Maverick and then resell it. if you could resell your order those barriers are gone and I am 100% certain people would exploit it.

No, the dealer will most likely want to keep it for themselves since they can mark it up. If the name of the buyer doesn't match what was on COVP they have no incentive to let you transfer it and every incentive to sell it at a markup.

Priority code only matters within the dealership. If they make all of their orders 19 then they are all the same for priority. If it is a rollover and the dealer entered it correctly then Ford sets the priority code.

Ford has never said they will make a lot of XLs and never will.
