Just spoke with the sales manager at a local Ford dealer and was told dealerships should have received their 2024 Maverick allocations last week. He said Ford is trying to do a better job of communicating with dealerships to avoid the ordering issues of the last two years.

This dealership is getting 60 with a split of 20% hybrid, 50% XLT and 30% Lariat. (Ford only intends to build 37% with Hybrid engines). He said their allocation is not nearly enough to fill their Hybrid roll over and pre-orders but will be enough to fill all XLT orders. He said the best opportunity to have your Maverick built in a timely fashion (as they have plenty of allocations for this configuration) is to order an XLT, with NO Black appearance, NO Tremor, NO FX-4, NO 4K tow, and highly recommend NO HYBRID as a Hybrid ordered right now is a minimum of a year out.

This applies to just this dealership, but you may be able to contact yours to get a better of idea of whether their allocation is enough to cover the rollover and pre-orders they will be processing on the 17th.

I’m in a bit of a similar boat. Dealer says 80 allocations for hybrids in ’24 with 140 hybrid carryover orders. I’m sticking with hybrid but I wish I could dealer shop, but Ford says carryover orders have to be placed w original ā€˜23 order dealer. Frustrating. @Ford Motor Company do you have a suggestion? I’d like to buy my first Ford.

They already gave their suggestion - if you have an unscheduled 2023 then order a 2024 in the next 2 days with your same name, same dealer, same order number if you want a private offer. If the 2023 gets scheduled after this week they will cancel your 2024 order and you will get the 2023.

Don’t recall seeing anyone posting this info last year prior to banks opening. Badass dealership! For kudos, post who they are. For greed, keep it to yourself to increase chances of getting your truck. šŸ˜‚

I think you misunderstood him. He probably said 20% XL, 50% XLT and 30% Lariat which is Ford's projected build. About 35% of those will be hybrid but rollovers may get a higher hybrid mix and allocation.

Basic XLT EB which is luckily all I wanted. What I didn’t ask is if their allocations are broken down by configuration (you get this many AWD, this many tow packages, etc.).
No, allocations aren't based on packages or options but constraints are. A dealer can have allocations but if they have orders with constraints they might not get built that month.

Also, some dealers have more 2023 rollovers than they have estimated allocations and are not taking new orders.

You are correct. I understood him but did a poor job in wording that sentence. Thanks for the edit.

Indeed. But that doesn’t help with my 57% of getting scheduled, which is the new info I just received, and the latest bummer.

my suggestion would be to order from a large high volume dealership which most likely will have a larger allocation of vehicles…

They also have more orders. One of the biggest Maverick dealers isn't taking new orders because they have more rollovers than allocations.

My dealer said similar issues as stated above. All my23 carryover count against their total my24 allotments so they have no new hybrids to offer and the safest bet is a XLT eco Awd. As of Friday they only had 11 slots to fill today. All others were pre orders and carryovers. Thank goodness I picked up my 23 XLT eco Awd 4kT BAP on Wednesday. 540 days, no more waiting. Yay!

So when my dealer told me they aren’t taking orders for 2024 hybrids because of rollover from 2023, that sounds correct?
